I still remember Eboni Mangum (Dulles) scoring 28 points in the final quarter, as a freshman, to help lead Dulles to the state Final 4.
Jordyn Marshall & Jade MillerGoing through the fall leagues, I’ve seen some impressive sophomores that are showing jumps, I’ve already written about Kolby Davis (Kinkaid) Jade Miller (Bellaire) and Clear Falls 6’2 post Sydney Maxwell who has an impressive upside. Endiah Lundy , also from Bellaire is an explosive scorer and all will be integral parts to their teams success over the next few seasons Some players have taken major jumps and will be added to the Texas 2022 Top 100 which will be updated after this weekend when I cover my final fall league for the month, the High School Showcase featuring some truly heavy hitters
Jordyn Marshall-G (Manvel) after bringing heat for Cedar Ridge, moved to Manvel to play for dad who’s the new head coach but catching the progression I saw from the “club” season to what she did at the HBU Camp to watching her last weekend tells me one thing, she’s going to create some problems for defenders. Her jumper is smooth and consistent, she understands how to create it under pressure and her first step gets her by defenders as she sometimes toys with how she’ll attack
JaNyla KennedyJaNyla Kennedy-F (North Shore) caught a glimpse of her as an 8th grader, she was powerful and fluid and definitely showed signs of being a next level player however the signs are clear and blinking as she’s toned up to become even more powerful, she can score with her back to the basket with nice footwork and a soft touch, or she can face the basket and hit the 10-15 footer. Her poise on the court was always there, she understands her role and plays it well, not to forget something else important, she rebounds on both ends and can handle the ball in the open court
