Quick hitter on Cedar Park, they have a legitimate shot at representing Region 3 in the state tournament that will be held in San Antonio early next year and of course, you want to know why
Hannah Wheeler2020
Hannah Wheeler-5’8 G (Incarnate Word commit) the game has and always will start at the one and when you have one that has high BB-IQ, controls the tempo and handles under pressure, you’re definitely on to something because that’s the base however you cross the plate when the PG is a vocal floor leader who makes the right passes to the right people at the right time. Her ability to score will enable her to play the 2, she creates off the dribble and that pull-up is sweet
Nicole Leff-6’0 P (Texas State commit) she’s a throwback post that can face the basket and score consistently from midrange and what she does is battle, battle and battle on the inside. Diving on the floor for loose balls, no problem and her interior defense and improved defending from outside the paint will enable her to play multiple positions in college. She not only finishes strong, but sees the floor and makes the right passes from the post position
Alisa Knight2021
Alisa Knight-5’9 G- I’m going to label her “ultra athletic” as she’s playing around the rim quite a bit. She’s long and uses length quite well, plays passing lane strong which leads to layups galore because not only does she have speed, she has a turbo. Elevates over taller defenders to knock down mid to long consistently
Sarai Estupinan-5’4 Combo- she makes things happen a number of ways, first of all, she’s very athletic and can break down defenders and attack the basket or just mix it up and take the mid-range. She also brings heat defensively
Shelby Hayes2022
Shelby Hayes-6’1 P-you can’t teach size is an old saying that might be true but in basketball it only matters if you get the job done and she brings her hard hat on the floor every time she steps on it. She’s powerful, finishes with defenders hanging on her and rebounds on both ends
2023
Gisella MaulGisella Maul-5’10 G- was offered by a BCS in the 7th grade, that should be enough but here you go. Unlimited range, takes defenders easily with a deceptive first step that can accelerate at the blink of an eye, but don’t blink because her step back is solid
Maul comes of the bench with seniors Megan Pish and Takara Hoist and they help keep the energy going, on both ends but when you add the other components, this squad is going to make some noise not only throughout the season but down the stretch
