Today, we will go over the new top 5 guards from each class! Some classes will see significant changes, while some will see very little movement at the top.
#1 Kiya Dorroh 6’1 2021 G Sabino
I know some people may be questioning why Dorroh is on the guards list rather than the forwards. Simple answer, she’s getting recruited to play guard…so she’s a guard in my book. Yes, she has to play forward for her high school due to a lack of height but that is not her natural position in my opinion. Dorroh is an elite guard and will be an amazing 2 guard in college. The kid can just flat out get buckets.
#2 Madison Connor 6’0 2021 G Perry
Speaking of bucket getters, we now discuss Madison Connor! Connor is so strong is every inch of the game. She is an electric scorer! Strong enough to bully defenders and get to the paint, good enough of a shooter to take the deep ball, and solid handles to break defenders.
#3 Jess Finney 5’11 2021 G Chaprral
Best shooter in state. Enough said. Finney has blown up this summer and received a ton of offers from big time universities. She will be an amazing shooting guard at the next level and I am so excited that we still have two seasons of high school basketball with her!
#4 Ally Stedman 5’8 2021 G Pinnacle
Stedman has improved so much from last season and she was already cooking last season! Stedman could realistically see advancement up this list if she keeps up this type of development. Stedman is a great shooter and is an underrated play maker. Much like our next player on the list, I think people look at her as more of a scorer.
#5 Kamryn Doty 5’5 2021 G Sabino
Doty makes the jump into the top 5 guards. I felt that her overall scholarship offers and what she’s been doing on the court this summer were too good to leave her off. Doty has play making ability that I think most people under rate. She is definitely looked at as more of a scorer but honestly, she can do both well.
