This past Sunday was our first Prep Girls Hoops Top 250 Expo in Iowa. It was the last of four this fall and we had an insane amount of talented players in the gym. Robert Kelly (PGH Kansas) and I will be breaking down all the talent at the event over the next week or so. Up next is a look at Team 3 from the Expo.

Campbell was very good all day long. She was aggressive with the ball in her hands and she was knocking down shots. I thought she played well all day long. Her speed is very noticeable quickly as she glides up and down the floor with ease. She is a very solid option at point guard if you’re looking for an in-your-face defender as well.
[player_tooltip player_id="171112" first="Laney" last="Humble"] - 5’5 SG - 2023 - Sparta HS (MO)
Humble was someone who I hadn’t seen before the event and she instantly caught my attention. She was able to shoot it from beyond the arc and she was also able to get into the lane easily. She is a very aggressive player for her youth and I see no reason that she can’t grow a couple more inches. A young player to keep an eye on.
[player_tooltip player_id="63033" first="Molly" last="Joyce"] - 5’6 PG - 2023 - Bishop Garrigan HS (IA)
Joyce is a quick-twitch point guard who has maturity that many incoming freshmen don’t have. She was scoring the ball as usual but I thought she brought the energy on the defensive side of the ball. Consistently she was forcing turnovers and getting the ball into the hands of her teammates. Joyce is going to be a mainstay for Bishop Garrigan for the next four years.
[player_tooltip player_id="131131" first="Rachel" last="Leerar"] - 5’7 PG - 2021 - West Hancock HS (IA)
Leerar had a lot of confidence on Sunday and performed well. She struggled a bit during AAU but I thought that at the Expo she held a ton of confidence. She was making shots and getting to the rim at will but also getting her teammates involved. Leerar also looked a bit stronger and should have another impact high school season.
Samantha Origel - 5’8 SG - 2023 - Burlington HS (IL)
Origel wasn’t able to make it to the Chicago showcase but she took the opportunity to come to the Iowa showcase. I was very glad she did because she played well. Origel is a jack of all trades on the floor. She was shooting it fairly well, playing solid defense, and never stopped hustling. I liked what I saw from her Sunday and she would have been among the top 2023’s at the Chicago event.
Emma Arnold - 5’8 SF - 2023 - Xavier HS (IA)
Arnold was someone who I was looking forward to seeing at the Expo and she did not disappoint. I thought that she was able to do a lot of really good things for her age all day long. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her see time on Xavier’s varsity squad this year. She is a fluid wing who can play on the post inside as well as around the perimeter. Arnold is a player who I’ll have my eye on.
[player_tooltip player_id="127616" first="Haidyn" last="Hull"] - 5’9 SF - 2023 - Grinnell HS (IA)
After seeing Hull this summer I thought that she was a player who needed to develop a little more and a name I had written down to check back in with next summer. But after the Expo, I am a firm believer that she’s going to be someone to keep an eye on as a varsity freshman. Hull was all over the floor scoring the ball and on defense. She is a very athletic wing who I’ll be interested to watch this winter within structure. (Featured Photo)
[player_tooltip player_id="93991" first="Emree" last="Zars"] - 5’10 G - 2022 - Mill Valley HS (KS)
Zars was impressive to me this summer and she was once again good at the Expo. I thought that she changed pace well and as one of the top guards in attendance, she was dominant at times. Zars has a very solid frame that can hold strength and as she gains that she’s going to become almost unstoppable with her length. She’s in store for a stellar sophomore campaign.
[player_tooltip player_id="134324" first="Shateah" last="Wetering"] - 5’11 SF - 2020 - Montezuma HS (IA)
Wetering is one of the top players in the state and she lived up to that billing at the Expo. Wetering used a flurry of moves both on the perimeter and in the paint. I thought she looked both quicker and faster than she was early in the summer. That will only help her as she attacks her senior year. Look for Wetering to be among the top players in the state scoring the ball this year.
