For the Belton Lady Pirates, they have that with 5’4 Junior PG/SG Korinne Moss. Coming off of a 13-13 season that saw the Lady Pirates finish 3rd in the Suburban – White division with an 8-6 mark, Korinne will be called upon to be among the team leaders.
“Korinne is a very instinctual player, especially on the defensive end,” says Coach Batchelder. Defense at any level is a hard ask for most players. Korinne uses her defensive skill set to help spark her outside shooting.
What are your expectations for yourself this year?
Photo Credit Coach BatchelderFor me, I want to be an even better leader than I was last year for the team. I also want everyone on the team to both succeed and get better on the court.
What are some of your strengths?
My competitiveness is what makes me who I am and sets me apart from other players. Court vision; being able to see the floor against the defense to find my teammates. As well as my passing skills. I have worked on my jump shot so I can be a more reliable shooter this year. There is still room for improvement and the competitor in me will push me to get better.
With a solid jump shot and being able to play multiple decisions, Korinne will be needed to step into an even bigger role this year. Her defensive IQ along with her natural willingness to pass will be key to the overall team success of the Lady Pirates this year. Along with helping lead the new players, Korinne will have to be a key contributor on both ends of the floor to help the Lady Pirates have a successful season.
