We had our first two scrimmage games of the year at The PHHacility, as apart of the JUCO Jamboree. Conveniently, SWS’s Rising Stars event immediately followed the end of the Jamboree so I had to stay and check out the talent! Here are the Top Performers from the event:
Marisa Davis-Jones 6’1 2021 F Valley Vista
MDJ played very well this weekend. She is just so physically dominant for most girls to hang with her. The speed, the strength, the length of her arms. She’s very tough to keep from getting to the basket and can guard 1-5.
Madison Connor 6’0 2021 G Perry
Speaking of physically dominant players, Madison Connor is absolutely one of them. Connor is ridiculously strong and uses her body very well in pursuit of the basket. Try and stop her from getting to the basket!
Taty Clayburne 5’8 2021 G Perry
Taty is so shifty. She’s got tight handles and an imagination that allows her to get past her defenders and with some style and flair. Taty is also fearless when attacking the basket. She’ll try to finish over any player in her way.
Ally Stedman 5’9 2021 G Pinnacle
Stedman put on her usual display of shooting and play making. Stedman’s shot is crazy fast and she’s got to be one of the best shooters in state.
Alyssa Brown 6’0 2021 F Sahuaro
Brown looks like she may have grown a little bit in height. She looks a lot bigger from the last time I’ve seen her. She’s still as mobile as ever and finishes very well around the basket.
Anna Ostlie 5’8 2020 G Chaparral
Ostlie is so fun to watch. She just doesn’t make mistakes. She makes all of the right passes and is very elusive. She makes the simple passes look like highlight plays!
Mia Davis 6’0 2023 G Xavier
Davis is really looking scary. She hasn’t even played in an official high school game and she already looks ready for the level of play! She is really going to be quite the prospect and I think she will be a top player this year.
