Players to watch
Paige Craft, Guard, Junior, (2021)
Paige, a key returner for the Lady Mustangs this year. On a team full of upperclassman, she played a valuable role off the bench a season ago. This year Paige will step into a starting role, where she’ll be expected to be one of the leaders for BVN. The silky smooth guard has the ability, skill and IQ to play both guard positions. Has great court vision, handle and deceptive speed. Shooting ranges, from midrange to beyond the arc. Craft, a member of KC Dream Basketball continues to develop into one the area’s top guards. She’s currently ranked #16 in our PGH Kansas Rankings for the class of 2021 and looks to climb this season.
Lauren Cassaday, Forward, Senior, (2020)
The Washburn University Women’s Basketball commit, is a returning starter for North. Lauren, the multi-sport athlete has been the “do it all” player for Lady Mustangs over the last couple of years. Her non-stop motor allows her to be an effective post and perimeter defender as well as a relentless rebounder on both sides of the ball. Can put it on the floor and finish strong at the basket, as well as shoot it from the perimeter. Lauren is currently ranked #26 in our PGH Class of 2020.
McKenna Simons, Guard, Junior, (2021)
Simons is another returner from last years team. After gaining more experience this summer playing with MO Phenom, she’ll be looked to play more of a role for the BVN. The 5’9 guard, is great in transition and finishes strong around the basket using floaters and a variety of other moves. A streaky perimeter shooter who has the ability to fill it up on any given night. Look for Simons to have break out season for the Lady Mustangs.
Lady Mustangs have some key returning girls off the bench from a year ago. Kayte Delong & Lexy Farrington should get valuable minutes for North this season.
