The University of Tulsa lands 3 great pick-ups that are all from Oklahoma Makenna Burch from Jenks, Jessika Evans of Norman North and Olivia Clayton of Checotah have all committed to the University of Tulsa. Each stemming from different parts throughout the state. Tulsa did well with this recruiting class in bringing a group of girls together who operate within different levels of the court. In addition, each player holds a varying position from the other.

The Players

Makenna Burch, Class of 2020

5’6, Guard, Jenks HS

OKLAHOMA PWP

Jessika Evans, Class of 2020

6’0 Guard/Forward, Norman North HS

Below The Rim

Olivia Clayton, Class of 2020

6’4, Post, Checotah HS

Oklahoma Swarm

About The Players

Makenna Burch is your true guard in this trio of committees. Burch holds her own unique swagger to her game which is easily seen throughout the course of the game. Crafty in her decision-making on the court, she can operate from the perimeter and in transition very well.

Next in line is the 6’0 forward/guard Jessika Evans out of Norman. The most versatile game out of the 3, she has a larger skill set than her fellow committees. On the offensive end, she can play a forward in any capacity. Defensively, she’s best on other forwards due to her size and the lack of footwork among most true four posited players. Evans uses her ability to shoot from multiple levels of the court, attacks in transition and executes well from the high post.

Lastly, Olivia Clayton from Checotah Oklahoma is the big player in this trio. Handling the last level of the court, she operates largely close to the rim. Olivia has the ability to rebound and push in transition but does well from high post and in. On the defense end, she is often disciplined to move her feet and helps well. One of the best intangible qualities of Olivia is her potential is very high as basketball player.

As basketball season gets closer, make sure you check out these players! If you want to know more about where they are playing, be sure to follow on social media at @pghoklahoma and our contributor @ashlehynclark23!
