Kiley Garvey – Sr. – Highland
She played her role well for the Hawks as the lead guard on both ends. On offense, she consistently made good passes to shooters and teammates cutting to the basket, and hit a few jumpers when Gilbert left her too open. And she played solid man D on opposing point guards as well.
Airiana Madanski – Sr. – Highland
Madanski was a pest in all the right ways defensively, always getting in the way for blocks at the rim and making life difficult for opposing wings in man situations. Then she would get the ball out to the team’s lead guards for their best chances to score.
Jaleah Hendrix – Soph. – Gilbert
The Tigers trailed the whole game, but Hendrix made a few plays offensively to put points on the board in the final quarter (the whole team struggled to hit shots) to keep the game close and make it exciting.
Tieyah Rosier – Jr. – Highland
She dominated most of Gilbert’s girls in the post, using her size to get buckets on layups. She also set some great screens for ball handlers, rebounded on defense and recorded a couple quality blocks, too.
