Here’s who stood out in this one
Iyana Webb, Guard, Twin Cities Academy (2021)
Webb provided two three-point shots for the Twin Cities Academy. She accumulated almost 40% of TCA’s offense which unfortunately was not close to enough to beat the Wolverines of Sibley East.
Jaden Kmetz, Guard, Sibley East (2021)
Kmetz was a nice player off the bench for the Wolverines today. She had a couple of steals and a rebound to go along with 10 points off of 2 three-pointers and two nice mid-range shots. Kmetz is definitely my “diamond in the rough” player I witnessed in this game.
Lexy Stock, Guard, Sibley East (2020)
Stock was definitely our defensive player of the game in dominating fashion. With 5 steales, she really caused a large amount of offensive trouble for TCA and played very well in this one.
Karissa Larkin, Forward, Twin Cities Academy (2020)
Larkin was the best player on the court for TCA. She leads the team in scoring for a reason, and also led the charge on rebounds and drives to the bucket. It was a surprising sight to see that this Tigers team was above 500. at this point in the season.
Game MVP
Kenzie Latzke, Guard, Sibley East (2020)
Latzke scored as many points as the entire Twin Cities Academy team in this one. If that’s not game MVP material, I’m not sure what is. Latzke played well from just about everywhere she shot the ball from; three-point line, mid-range and dribble drives to the bucket. Her 16 points dominated TCA in a game where they were tremendously overmatched in the first game of the Hoop City Classic at the prestigious Corn Palace.
Twin Cities Academy (4-4) will play tomorrow against Mitchell (SD) at 11:00 AM back at the Corn Palace in Mitchell.
Sibley East (3-6) will take their talents an hour up the road to the Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to play Yankton (SD) in another Hoop City Classic tournament game at 5:00 tomorrow.
