Millennium comes in at #1 once again. As of right now, they are the undoubted top team in state. However, they have a very big game coming up against Valley Vista. I think that Valley Vista has the best chance of beating Millennium out of anyone else in state. I am very excited for that game! Until Millennium loses, they will remain the #1 seed.
#2 Valley Vista (6A)
Valley Vista comes in at #2. They are currently at the top of 6A and they will soon have a chance to prove that they are the #1 overall team if they manage to defeat Millennium. That is a very big task, we’ll have to see what happens!
#3 Seton Catholic (4A)
Seton Catholic comes in at #3. They are still currently undefeated and are at the top of 4A. I believe they will likely finish the year undefeated and be the #1 seed going into the playoffs.
#4 Hamilton (6A)
Hamilton comes in at #4. They have been on a roll this season and they look really strong. Their only loss came to Valley Vista and it was a very close game. Hamilton is a team you do not want to face come playoff time!
#5 Perry (6A)
Perry looks like they are finding their footing and really coming together. They just beat Chandler, who was previously ranked higher than them. Due to this big win, they rose in the 6A rankings, which in turn caused them to rise in the all-state rankings.
#6 Shadow Mountain (4A)
Shadow Mountain just turned in a huge win against Pinnacle. Earlier in the week, they even beat Greenway. These two wins are very impressive, especially since they are still without Dyamond Butler-Worley. The Shadow girls have really stepped up and look like they could challenge Seton.
#7 Chandler (6A)
Chandler has dropped a little bit due to their loss to Perry. I believe this is their first loss of the AIA season and this one loss was important. Not only did it drop them in their region rankings, but it also dropped them in our 6A rankings, which in turn dropped them in our all-state rankings.
#8 Cactus Shadows (5A)
Cactus Shadows is turning in a huge season and they are currently #2 in the 5A rankings. Although they are very high in their own conference rankings, I couldn’t put them over some of the top teams you see above.
#9 Gilbert (5A)
Gilbert has been the surprise team of the year so far and they are still doing great things and beating some top teams. They find themselves this low due to the fact that they are a little lower in their own conference rankings.
#10 Greenway (4A)
Greenway has just lost their first game of the AIA season and it came against Shadow Mountain. Despite the loss, I was really impressed with Greenway. They played really hard and challenged Shadow until the very end. I think they could potentially find their groove come playoff time and do some damage.
