Duncanville and Cypress Creek sending early messages

Always remember that the game is played on the court and please before you send me anything I won't look at, "it's not what you do, it's who you do it against". Desoto has 7, 8, or 9 D1 players, I lost count and they were ranked #1 by USA Today before losing to South Grand Prairie. Duncanville, after defeating Desoto in the Sandra Meadows Classic finals, has earned a split with the Lady Eagles but sophomore sensation point guard Michayla Gatewood has been out when an injury and please remember another one of my great sayings "the game starts at the one" always has and always will [caption id="attachment_132785" align="alignleft" width="300"] Deja Kelly[/caption] The Pantherettes have also split with South Grand Prairie, who lost in the semifinals of the Mansfield Spring Creek BBQ Invitational but Duncanville appears to be flying at all cylinders and why not, North Carolina signee Deja Kelly is scoring not only at will but droves but peep this, she's doing it in the flow and if you don't understand what that means, well it means a lot as she was named MVP of the event. Junior Hope LeMelle was named Outstanding Defensive Player and runner up Desoto's Asha Thompson (Old Dominion) was named Outstanding Offensive Player and I guess it would be safe to say these two teams are in the hunt [caption id="attachment_132791" align="alignright" width="300"] Kendall McGruder[/caption] Over at the Mansfield event, I had a chance to see several quality teams and I definitely see how South Grand Prairie has defeated both Duncanville and Desoto and Camryn Hill comes off the bench, btw, she's moving up on the next update this month. I got into a light debate with a national guy about this squad and my philosophy is simple ad to the point, SGP has a whole lot of ATHLETIC guards that do the same thing, attack, play defense, play the passing lane and can shoot the long ball and once they get going, it's like the movie Pleasantville and to do what they do, you have to have athleticism, well back in the day it was different but this is now. While I'm moving players, Kendall McGruder put on a show and watch her too, get hers in the flow was something and I was expecting them versus Cy Creek for the championship but an overtime loss to Martin the semis by 2 ...... [caption id="attachment_95327" align="alignleft" width="300"] Taylor Jackson[/caption] Cypress Creek defeated Martin in the Championship, All Everything Kyndall Hunter dropped 36 in their 65-53 win over Martin in that championship game while her backcourt mate, All Everything Rori Harmon was named tournament MVP. These players are one of the best backcourts in the country and I'm not talking about driving back home down I-45 and looking into the woods, I'm talking about the USA and to top it off, they are juniors but the impressive about them and All Everything Deja Kelly is that before they played their first middle school game, I called them not only #D1LOcks but #BCSLOCKS and throw away the key because when you know what you're looking at, it's easy and I definitely know. To top that off, another 2021, Taylor Jackson joined the duo on the All-Tournament team but please hold your horses, I'm coming back with recaps on the numerous times I saw in both events, Stock Risers, Player Spotlights and who got on the map, so stay tuned and always remember, no one does or has done, of relevance, what I do or did
