Hamilton is also one of the top teams in 6A, so I fully expect two amazing games. I will do previews of both games, as they fully deserve their own separate articles, as there’s more than enough to discuss.
First off, let’s look at some of the top performers from both squads, then we will look at some key match ups.
Hamilton Key Players:
Graciela Roybal (2021) leads the way for Hamilton in the scoring department, averaging 11.9 points per game.
Victoria Davis (2020) is very close behind, averaging 9.8 points per game.
Amayah Reaves (2021), Samara Curry (2021), and Zakiirah King (2020) are also chipping in some points, averaging between 6-8 points per game each.
Chandler Key Players:
2020 guards, Victoria Mason and Amara Wilson lead the way in the scoring department for Chandler. Mason averaged 14.3 PPG while Wilson averaged 13.7 PPG.
2020 Mykah Anderson can get hot in a hurry and shoots it very well from down town. Anderson is currently averaging 10.3 PPG.
Two of the biggest X-Factors for Chandler are Victoria Perez and Mya Peat.
Some key match ups going into the game that interest me is in the backcourt. Both squads have undersized guards, so that should be pretty fun to see these quick guards go head to head.
One of the more important match ups of the game is between Peat and King. Peat has a big size advantage while King has the advantage in her mobility. I am curious to see how this plays out and which girl gets the advantage here.
I would assume that Hamilton wants to get up and down the court so that Peat’s size isn’t as much of a factor, however Chandler loves playing fast as well. When they have their small ball lineup in, they are very entertaining and put up a ton of points.
Well it’s prediction time and this one is very tough for me to call. I could see either squad taking the W and I do think the game will eventually be decided between single digit points. I predict Hamilton wins by 4.
A little side note: I think it is going to be really fun to see Victoria Mason and Victoria Davis match up against each other, as they are both committed to Hampton University next season.
