The Vikings went 3-0 last week to improve to 12-0 on the year. They had to grind out a win on Saturday over a solid LaMoure/Litchville/Marion, beating the Loboes 64-61 in overtime. That was only the second game in which the Vikings have beaten a team by less than 15 points.
Langdon/Edmore/Munich
LEM just keeps on rolling. The Cardinals won three games last week in blowout fashion to improve to 13-0 on the year. They put an exclamation point on a terrific week with a dominant 73-46 win over Hettinger/Scranton. Kaitlynn Scherr and Callie Ronningen form one of the best one-two punches in the state but the Cardinals are also getting solid production from players like Jaya Henderson and Morgan Freije.
Kidder County
The Wolves played just one game last week, beating Linton/HMB 45-29. Kidder County is allowing less than 30 points per game and a win over a team that is also gunning for the top spot in District 6 is a productive week.
Grafton/St. Thomas
The Spoilers earned one of the best wins of the season Tuesday, beating Thompson 52-39. Julia Dusek and Carlee Sieben were solid, scoring 11 and 13 points respectively but it was Walker Demers leading the way with 16. Grafton/St. Thomas sits at 12-2 on the year with a pair of losses to Kindred and Four Winds/Minnewaukan.
Trenton
19, 38 and 66. That’s how many points Trenton won by in its games against Parshall, Divide County and Lewis and Clark – North Shore. The Tigers are 14-0 on the year, and destroying teams. They’ve got an awfully good chance to get to a state tournament with an unblemished record.
Four Winds/Minnewaukan
The Indians blew out Dakota Prairie and Harvey/Wells County over the weekend, improving to 12-2 on the season. Four Winds/Minnewaukan faces a couple of Region 4 foes before a huge matchup with No. 2 LEM next Monday.
Carrington
The Cardinals took down undefeated Rugby on Saturday, improving to 12-2 on the season. Kiera Eli was excellent in that game, scoring 16 points while Addison Hoernart added 10 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. Eli dropped 27 points in a win over Oakes earlier in the week as well.
Thompson
The Tommies took a 52-39 loss to Grafton/St. Thomas to drop to 12-2 on the year. Thompson hasn’t hit the 40-point mark in either of its two losses and has shown a propensity for offensive struggles in games against quality competition. The Tommies are still elite defensively and that’ll carry them to a lot of wins.
Rugby
The Panthers took their first loss of the season Saturday, dropping a 54-41 home contest to Carrington. The Cardinals were the first team to eclipse 50 points against them. Brooke Blessume scored 15 points in the game but nobody else hit double-figures. Offense can at times be tough to come by for this group.
Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood
The Mavericks picked up a really nice win over a very good Our Redeemers squad last week and improved to 13-1 on the season. MLS has mostly cruised against teams in its region with the exception of Rugby and will get a couple of weeks worth of tuneup games against out-of-region opponents or sub-.500 teams.
