Here are the teams of the week:
Fargo Davies
The Eagles are off to a fantastic start this year and earned their best win to date, beating Fargo Shanley 65-56. Since the season-opening loss to Bismarck Century, Davies is 5-0 in EDC play and looking like a legitimate contender with Devils Lake, Fargo Shanley and Grand Forks Red River. The Eagles have a chance to stack together a handful more wins before things get tougher again.
Minot
How about the Magicians? After winning just four games a year ago, the Magicians could’ve easily been written off going into this year. So far, things haven’t been great, but they’ve been markedly better. Minot picked up a terrific win Saturday, beating state-ranked Jamestown 61-55 at Jamestown. That’s a win that certainly shakes things up in the WDA.
Northern Cass
With a ton of games last weekend getting postponed or canceled due to the snowstorms, there weren’t nearly as many high-end matchups to draw from last week. Before things did get postponed at the UJ Shootout in JAmestown though, Northern Cass picked up an excellent win, beating Oakes 68-52. Oakes figures to contend in Region 3, so that win shows just what the Jaguars are capable of.
