Nyah Wilson-5’8 G (Duncanville) watching her run around the gym watching her twin sisters many years ago observing every move gave me a head start but her growth spurt just overwhelmed me but not as much as her game has. She comes off the bench and puts up numbers, that’s not easy and she can do it multiple ways including the long ball and her performance was instrumental in them winning the championship
Asia Wheeler-5’7 G(Hardin Jefferson) the athletic senior understands a very important thing and that is she finds ways to put the ball in the basket. She brings the heat on defense, has quick hands which lead to points, she can shoot the long ball and when you attempt to guard her closely, her quickness enables her to get by you for, well baskets. Oh yeah, she plays the passing lane and that, well hopefully you get the picture
Tia Harvey-5’9 G (Sasche) the Arkansas Little-Rock signee gave somewhat of a next-level preview as she handles the ball under pressure and the game I watched was against Duncanville so that falls into the “it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against” category but on top of that, her athletic ability helped enable her to maneuver to the basket and that silky pull-up will come in handy in college
Sa’Myah Smith-6’4 P (Desoto) well she’s definitely moving into the Top 5 this week, just an FYI and watching her finish that inbounds alley-oop over and over had me SMH. Long, athletic and timing plus she can jump, all of that enables her to be a shot-blocking machine but her recovery is amongst the best if she misses as she gets back into her spot. Scores inside with ease and can face the basket for points
Tymberlin Criswell-5’9 (The Village School) long and athletic caught my eye before her first middle school game and I’ve watched her progression over the years add mid to long-range as well as defensive pressure, baseline to baseline. Now a junior, she could always slice and dice her way to the basket but finishing with contact as well as playing the passing lane continue to jump
Jeriah Warren-6’0 G (LaGrange HS LA) don’t know what I’m more impressed with, me calling her a #BCSLock in the 6th grade or her 27 on the ACT so I’ll drop Drake and Gucci Mane a S/O and say BOTH. That pull-up from wherever she wants, not to mention creating her shot has always been there but she sees the floor quite well and, one more time, plays the passing lane
