Oscoda vs. Bay City John Glenn Preview

The Bay City John Glenn Bobcats (7-2) will host the Oscoda Owls (5-2) in a non-conference match-up on Tuesday, January 14th. The Owls have faced the Bobcats 6 times over the course of the summer. Coach Mark Toppi stated, "[We] should not be intimidated by them but I also know John Glenn is a very hard place to play." Toppi is expecting his team to play aggressive and loose in order to put up a fight against the Bobcats. The Bobcats are ranked #1 in the Bay City area and 9th in the state, according to the Associated Press. The Bobcats will be a tough rival with 5'7" guard <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/abi-tarrant/">Abi Tarrant</a></strong> (2021) and 5'11" shooting guard <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/carly-mccrum/">Carly McCrum</a></strong> (2021). <strong>Tarrant</strong> is currently averaging 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 steals per game. I asked <strong>Tarrant</strong> how she feels about the game on Tuesday and she said, "every game day is like Christmas. I can't wait to go out there and play with my team." [caption id="" align="alignleft" width="288"] <span style="font-size: 10pt">Macy Kellstrom (1) Photo: Ben Murphy, Oscoda Press</span>[/caption] The Owls are having one of their best seasons in history under the leadership of <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/lauren-langley/">Lauren Langley</a></strong> (2020) and <strong>Macy Kellstrom </strong>(2021).  Last week against Roger City, <strong>Langley</strong> scored 31 points and scored 18 against Alcona on Friday night. <strong>Langley</strong> and <strong>Kellstrom</strong> are expected to be heavily guarded by the Bobcats.  The Owls are continuing to work hard and are looking for the win over John Glenn.
