There are many names to know on Rapid City Steven’s roster. Lets get down to it.
Kyah Watson (5’11/G-F/2020) – Best player on the team with ease. Committed to Division I University of South Dakota.
Jayda McNabb – (5’9/G/2022) – Good athlete that can run the floor extremely well. Brought ball up quickly at times and has a great push-ahead outlet pass. Can finish on the left side of the hoop. She plays hard and gets on the floor for loose balls. Defensively, she’s very active in the passing lanes looking for steals to turn into transition plays.
Grace Ellis – (5’9/PG-G/2021) – Big guard with strong frame. Very smart, heady player that has a great feel for the game. Very controlled with the ball at the point guard position. Great ability to run a half-court offense and take care of things. Above average ball-handler that can make extra moves with the ball to create space and passing lanes. Ellis showed a nice behind-the-back wrap dribble. Great and smart passer, able to find open cutters in lane for buckets. As a scorer, she really looks for the floater on the baseline and in the lane. Defensively, she’s able to get good position on and off ball but occasionally gets beat to the hoop by the ball-handler. She sometimes closes out too long and gets beat off the dribble.
Grace Martin – (5’10/G-F/2020) – Able to finish off glass in the paint. Able to alter and block shots. Closed-out very hard on three-point shooters. Possesses great defensive recovery. She can consistently knock down the baseline jumper. Can also knock down an open three. She finished with 11 points versus Pierre.
Bailee Sobczak – (6’1/F-C/2022) – Great, long prospect. Very quick with the ball in her hands in transition. Has great top speed and is able to find open teammates while she’s on the move. Great at deflecting passes with her length.
Kenadi Rising – (5’10/G-F/2021) – Really nice player. Gets good low positioning to box-out and boards it strongly. Exceptional movement skills and it really shows on the defensive side with her lateral agility and simply flying all over the place. Puts great ball pressure on the ball-handler. Offensively, she drives very hard to her right to create contact in the lane. Also, has the ability to knock down an open three.
Ella Peterson – (6’1/C/2021) – A good post player to get acquainted with. Good size and moves well with solid feet. Peterson runs the floor well trying to get in early position and get to her spot.
