Anderson’s efforts helped lift Chandler to a win over Basha, 67-61. Anderson had 23 points on the night, leading the team, with her senior teammate Victoria Mason not far behind with 21. It should come as no surprise that those two led the team in scoring, as they average the most points per game on the roster, but Friday was on another level.
She got off to a hot start in the first quarter, where she was able to score seven points for the Wolves to get things going. She continued to keep the momentum rolling in the second, putting up six more.
Things really started heating up later on in the game. It wasn’t until the fourth quarter where Anderson had a huge surge, putting up eight more points for her team to help extend their lead in a game that was really a close one the entire time.
Right now, Anderson is sitting right behind Mason as the second leading scorer on the team, averaging 12.3 points per game, 5.3 rebounds and 3.3. assists. She’s also racked up 55 steals so far this season.
Anderson’s game tonight not only helped her reach a career milestone, but also shows she’s peaking at the perfect time. There’s only a week and a half left of the regular season before the playoffs and Chandler is currently sitting in sixth place.
If Anderson is able to keep up this pace, it will greatly benefit Chandler as they attempt to close out the regular season on a high note and remain towards the top of the 6A rankings.
