It was a back and forth game for the first three quarters and at one point, Greenway was able to hold on to a solid lead, but Shadow Mountain battled back in the fourth to take home the W.
It was an important game that showed a lot about both teams as the playoffs are just around the corner. Here are four takeaways from the Thursday night’s game.
Bridget Mullings is among the state’s top post players
Junior Bridget Mullings is among the top post players not only in her class, but in the state. Mullings does what she needs to to secure rebounds and second chance points, but also is a solid shooter and works well with her teammates to pass the ball and help open others up for shots.
Senya Rabouyin can shoot from anywhere
It wasn’t something that we didn’t already know, but last night was a good reminder that she is one of the best shooters not only in 4A, but in Arizona. Rabouyin has the ability to put the ball up from nearly anywhere on the court and hit the shot.
Greenway could shake things up in 4A this year
I would not be surprised to see Greenway pull of an upset at some point this year during the playoffs. They are ranked pretty high up currently in 4A, but I see them being one of the final four remaining teams for the division.
Expect Shadow Mountain to return to State
With the exception of Seton Catholic, no other in-state teams have been able to defeat the Matadors on the court this season. I fully expect them to make another state championship appearance this year.
