Everyone knows the big games who will be there: Schipfer, Hess, Downing, Conley, Meiring. But there are a few names that should catch your eye to watch in the future.
Here are 5 sleepers to keep an eye on if you are in Troy on Saturday.
Grace Forrest, Mechanicsburg- completes a very competitive backcourt joining Kasey Schipfer to form one of the best backcourts in D4 in Ohio Forrest handles the ball very well, and is a 5-7 junior who should attract a lot of attention this summer from college coaches. Has excellent range and is a smart, heady player.
Morgan Hunt, Tri Village- part of a very talented freshman group at Tri Village along with Rylee Sagester. Hunt is getting better every day, and comes off the bench to provide a big spark. Is among the top freshman in Ohio, and is very multi-skilled. Great handles, takes it to the rim to score, and can score from the midrange. Very efficient rebounder and post defender.
Belle Cable, Franklin Monroe- Sharpshooter comes to mind when you watch this 5-5 senior in action. Her game has really improved since her freshman season, and she has developed herself into quite the perimeter threat for the Jets. Compliments Corina Conley well with her ability to draw some defenders out to her. Impressed at her range, has the skills to play at the next level.
Ava Sholtis, Fort Loramie- Probably the most improved of this group. She saw action as a freshman last season, but nobody really focused in on her with all the weapons they have at Fort Loramie. Now, she is making you take notice. Love this kids motor and energy, aggressive and smart player who can shine at both ends of the floor. Great leader and a kid who will continue to get better. Has a great surrounding cast around her. No longer a hidden gem.
Kamryn Jordan, Cincinnati Country Day- very quick and athletic guard who can transition her defense into points. Great with the ball, can score at the rim and defensively will harass her opponent. Great body control and her on-ball defense is aggressive. Strong physical player underneath.
