The final four is set in the Shore Conference. This is one of the best conferences in girls basketball with some of the best talent in the state. The top four seeds have advanced to the semi-finals which makes for an incredible last three games. It will begin on Tuesday with the championship game coming on Saturday.
1- St. John Vianney vs. 4- St. Rose: Tuesday, Feb. 25, 5:00 PM
St. John Vianney is not only the top team in the Shore, they are the No. 1 team in New Jersey. They are 23-1 on the season and have not been challenged in the SCT just yet. They will take on upset-minded St. Rose in the semis. St. John Vianney is led by one of the top sophomore guards in the country. Madison St. Rose has been a beast all season long. he turned in 19 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and 11 steals in the second round against Toms River East. She followed that up with 18 points and six rebounds in the quarterfinals. St. Rose has St. John Vianney playing at an extremely high-level in the postseason.
If anyone can try to keep up with St. Rose, it is Brynn Farrell. The senior is scoring just over 20 points per game. She has dominated both inside and out this season and that is a reason she has scored over 500 points. Makayla Andrews and Abigail Antogoli are also strong contributors on the offensive end. St. Rose is a good team with elite star power, but they will have their hands full with St. John Vianney in this one.
2- Manchester Township vs. 3- Red Bank Catholic: Tuesday, Feb. 25, 6:45 PM
Both of these teams were tested in the quarterfinals. Manchester Township picked up a 64-61 victory over Red Bank Regional. Destiny Adams dominated once again. She finished with 30 points and 17 rebounds in the win. Adams is a junior who has stared for three years. She is one of the 30 best players in the nation in the Class of 2021 according to ESPN. Kemari Reynolds runs the point while Adams dominates down low. Reynolds is a dynamic scorer but can also rebound and pass effectively. Manchester is a well-rounded team with a ton of experience.
It was a lower scoring affair for Red Bank Catholic when they took on Manasquan but they saw the same fate as Manchester. Red Bank Catholic picked up a 44-41 victory to advance. They used a big second half to come back as they trailed by 10 heading into halftime. Ally Carman and Fabienne Eggenschwiler led the way with 11 points each. Carman has been one of the most dominant forwards in the state this season. Justine Pissott will be the x-factor for Red Bank Catholic for the remainder of the tournament. She is a guard who can put up points in bunches if she gets hot from deep. This game will come down to which star players will show up early and take over the game from the beginning.
