Here, we take a look at several outside shooters who have given their teams a lift in 2019-20.
Jordan Hibner, 5’4, G, 2020, Chillicothe
Hibner is a strong, physical guard for her size who adds a lot of speed and good control to her game. She’s an intelligent player who knows how to score and looks to do so efficiently. Hibner is averaging 9.6 points per game and is connecting from a distance. She’s hitting 43 percent of her 3-pointers attempted and has the ability to light things up and score in bunches. An offensive player opposing teams have to look out for with the ball in her hands.
Jaiden Linebaugh, 5’5, G, 2020, Knox County
A scoring guard for Knox County who brings a 3-point shot and strong leadership to the floor. She runs the floor well and has good speed and an ability to catch and shoot from a distance. She gets the bounce more often than not and can connect from anywhere behind the three-point line. Linebaugh isn’t just a scoring threat from distance, having a game that translates to transition baskets and the mid-range area as well. She defends well and can rebound at times.
Eryn Puett, G, 2020, Rock Bridge
Puett has a clear understanding of the game and how to make an impact. She can hit shots from 3-point range and has the ability to score through contact in certain situations. She has a strong, balanced build and is a good defensive player at the top of the key, applying pressure and constantly swiping at the ball. She is an unselfish guard who looks to play physical and distribute the ball at a high level. She has a lot of zip to her passes and looks to take advantage of openings and score quickly when she sees an available shot.
Hydiyah Robinson, G, 2020, Raymore-Peculiar
She can play off the ball and looks to connect from 3-point range from the corner and wing spots. She hustles on the floor and looks to make smart passes and secure the ball. She’s a thin player who just finds ways to be involved. Robinson has experience and brings it to the floor in a way that helps her team stay loose and relaxed as she is a strong defender and good rebounder as well.
Jayla Sample, 5’8, G, 2020, Blue Springs
A strong and seasoned guard who understands her role and how to lead a team both vocally and through her actions. She has a physical game and it translates on both ends of the floor whether she’s looking to score, rebound block shots or force a turnover. She can hit 3-pointers and can also move inside closer to the glass or connect from the free throw line. A strong team player who fits well with the Blue Springs system.
