I elevated a couple of power forwards during the season, #35 [player_tooltip player_id="135377" first="Saija" last="Cleveland"] (Langham Creek) after seeing her beastlike performance during the preseason at an individual showcase as well as during some fall league action and she’s on the verge of moving up even higher after another individual showcase but her power in the paint, as well as her outside shooting, keeps getting better. Also elevating was #36 [player_tooltip player_id="135378" first="Lexi" last="Alexander"] (Cedar Ridge) after showing up and out at the Katy Classic. Her college-ready body was on full display as she showed signs of being dominant on the inside while dropping the long ball with ease, plus she rebounded well but I’m always watching for progression and here are some others
[player_tooltip player_id="135387" first="Amira" last="Mabry"] (Judson)
Current Rank #46
Mabry can play post or power forward, good hands and footwork, offense took another leap because she’ not only finishing strong but attacking from the outside as well as coring facing the basket
[player_tooltip player_id="135391" first="Ja’Nyla" last="Kennedy"] (North Shore)
Current Rank #50
Kennedy’s power on the inside isn’t her only asset yet she uses it nicely with a combination of good moves and a soft touch. She’s a battler, finishes with contact and can face the basket for baskets
[player_tooltip player_id="135393" first="Jadyn" last="Fife"] (Keller Fossil Ridge)
Current Rank #52
Fite can play multiple positions, she can fly from different angles as a wing, she can play the small forward and take bigger defenders outside and score that way or she can punish inside
[player_tooltip player_id="135398" first="Madelyn" last="Garza"] (San Antonio Johnson)
Current Rank #57
Garza;’s upside sold me on top of just the way she won’t let anyone outwork her. She has a strong body and can be physical on both ends but watching her maneuver in the paint and finish with contact definitely makes noise
[player_tooltip player_id="135399" first="Alexis" last="Parker"] (Brandeis)
Current Rank #58
Parker can also play multiple positions, nice first step ad ball-handling lets her attack from the wing, solid pull-yup in traffic from outside but the power she shows in the paint makes her a threat
[player_tooltip player_id="135401" first="Allie" last="Buchanan"] (Lake Dallas)
Current Rank #60
Buchanan impressed me as a player that was under the radar a couple of years ago yet she has definitely jumped on it with her ability to stretch the defense, finish strongly after contact and rebound on both ends
[player_tooltip player_id="135403" first="Yvonne" last="Forman"] (Dekaney)
Current Rank #62
Forman is one of those "takes players to the rim that are hanging on her". Her strength is second to none, she uses it nicely around the basket yet she has a nice touch and can score off the dribble Solid rebounder
