We took the time to recognize some girls that we thought were instrumental to their team in our opinion, these stood out to us as we watched, most of them are underclassmen and we hope they will step out and take the lead next year. If you need to see all who made it, please use the link located above this article.
OPEN DIVISION Players on our List:
2021, 5’7, PG/SG, Long Beach Poly HS, Lily Buggs - This kid is dynamic on the floor, she did a very good job for her team this year, where she showed is a two-way player and I would guess that why she was nominated. When a kid makes the decision to play defense and be a stopper, that is a different mindset and she is one of those. She can score it, she can defend and she can be a leader on the floor, I guess that is why they were so impressive this year, surprised us many times this season.
2021, 6’4, SF, Lynwood HS, [player_tooltip player_id="49225" first="Rayah" last="Marshall"] - Rayah is compared to Lisa Leslie in my opinion, she has that type of game any time she decides she is gonna be unstoppable and take care of business. She is long, she is lanky, she is skilled and she can be a high-major if she decides to focus on the plan and take care of her problem with consistency. I love her game, she is blocks shots, she changes shot all the time and she is an underrated defensive threat, this kid is gonna be the most consistent player in 2021 next year in my opinion.
DIVISION I Players on our List:
2021, 5’11, PG, West Torrance HS, [player_tooltip player_id="102658" first="Anaya" last="James"] - Anaya is the two-way player that is really scary because she is still developing her skill set and it does not look like it, she is really smooth. She can handle the rock, she can defend, she is long and lanky and very deceptively quick with the ball in her hands. She is a threat to score every time she has the ball, so someone must guard and ask for help, PERIOD...
2021, 6’2, SF, Bishop Montgomery HS, [player_tooltip player_id="49226" first="Khylee" last="Pepe"] - Khylee is a monster on the court, she can handle it, she can rebound with the best of them and a handful to guard. She shoots the three ball, so it is really hard to contain her, she is so deceptively athletic and also a bull in a china shop that can control her flow on the floor. She will be a major issue next season, she has something to prove.
2022, 5’11, SG, Troy HS, [player_tooltip player_id="103347" first="Hannah" last="Stines"] - Hannah is a rebel on the floor, she is also a threat to score, but she can do it from about 24 feet out if you allow her to shoot it. She has a decent handle, she rebounds for her team and is a decent defender. I like Hannah at the shooting guard position because that is what she is, earlier in the season she ran the point and it did not compliment her game, but they figured that out and she had a very solid sophomore season for Troy.
