Desirae Patzwald – Tea Area – (5’7/G/2020) – An extremely quick and exceptional athlete with great movement skills. Desirae can easily blow by an off-balance defender. She uses her agility and quickness to be a swarming defender on-the-ball, making it very difficult for opposing guards to run their offense and make plays. A good shooting stroke from outside as well. A very scrappy player on both ends of the floor. An impressive rebounder for her size. Overall, just a really nice player that is well-rounded and impactful.
Sam Kloos – Tea Area – (5’7/G/2020) – One of Tea Area’s guards that can play. An excellent three-point shooter that is not gun-shy. Drives the ball hard and quickly to get by the defense. Defensively, she is very sound and sits in a perfect defensive position.
Kennedy Headrick – Flandreau – (5’6/G/2020) – A very solid player that helps her team win games in multiple ways. Kennedy is a true asset to her team. She does everything well on both ends of the court and can even hit a three-pointer. She often drives by her defender and looks for open teammates. A tough defender that opposing ball-handlers have trouble getting past and scoring on her. Kennedy is a player that truly any team could use.
Tishara Hardy – Flandreau – (5’6/G/2020) – A smooth-moving guard that shows great quickness and speed. Not afraid to fire from three and can shoot it with accuracy. Tishara moves the ball around the perimeter quickly, making instant decisions with the ball. Uses her quickness to get by the initial defense and when the help comes she is great at getting it to outside shooters. Tishara is not just a passer but uses her quick first-step to create separation and score the ball herself.
Madisen Koepsell – McCook Central/Montrose – (6’0/F-C/2021) – Madisen is a versatile power forward/center type player. Runs the floor hard to get easy fast-break buckets. She can play on the wing and make all the passes around the perimeter. She’s great at kicking out to shooters. Plays a great high-low game with fellow 6’3 teammate. They make a tough duo to stop. Madisen can put up some good scoring numbers for her team. Moves very well laterally for her size, able to guard smaller players.
Kaitlyn Mohnen – Tri-Valley – (5’11/F/2021) – A good-sized and athletic frame. You can see her setting great screens for her teammates and rolling to the hoop. Not going to put up huge scoring numbers, but she is truly an asset to her team that helps them win games.
Olivia Ritter – Tea Area – (5’9/G/2021) – An athletic and strongly built player, Olivia Ritter is the real deal. An absolute stud scorer who has put up 40 and 41 point games this season. Olivia has really exploded this season as a scorer. She can score inside and outside with the best of them. A quick player but not extremely quick, but she is able to easily get by defenders and score regularly. She handles the ball well with both hands. Uses her body extremely well to score and draw fouls. It seems as though she is just stronger than everyone else and uses it to her advantage.
Maria Parsley – Flandreau – (5’9/F/2022) – Maria is an impressive player that plays bigger than her listed size. A strong, physical player that scores inside at will. She absolutely pins her defender down-low for point-blank two-pointers. She is often getting offensive rebounds and finishing them into two points for her team. Simply, Maria is a very aggressive that plays with a mean streak. What really stands out with Maria, is how high of a percentage she can shoot from inside the paint; when it goes up it normally counts for two points. Look for Maria to be a team leader for the next couple of years.
Paige Jewett – Tri-Valley – (5’6/G/2022) – A solid ball-handler and good shooter. Not afraid to take it inside and shoot it over the defense. Has a pump-fake and driving floater in her arsenal.
Claire Sheppard – Flandreau – (5’11/G-F/2024) – Claire is someone to really look out for, as the sky is the limit for the eighth-grader. She gets a good amount of playing time and is very efficient with it. There’s no telling how good she can be but she more than belongs already. A super long and slender player; think Kevin Durant if you will. She plays a lot stronger and aggressive than it looks like she would be able to. She runs well and glides on the court. Claire can do it all and is an accurate set-shooter from deep as well. Claire has a chance to be a really impressive overall player and one of the best in the state.
