The Oklahoma Prep Girls Hoops rankings are loaded with players over six feet tall. In fact, the top four players in the rankings are all 6’1" or taller. Here is a closer look at some of these players and their skill sets.
[player_tooltip player_id="151301" first="Kendra" last="Gillispie"] | 6-2 F | Harding Charter
Gillispie is a powerful rebounder. She goes up to grab the ball with authority and make it hers. She has great handles and runs the court very well. When she heads upcourt with the ball, she does not look like a "big" handling the ball. She looks like a big point guard handling the ball. Gillispie runs the court very well and is equally dangerous inside and outside when it comes to scoring. The Harding Charter product is committed to Ole Miss.
[player_tooltip player_id="30562" first="Kennedy" last="Allison"] | 6-0 F | Mount St. Mary
Allison has already scored 1,000 points in her three years of high school basketball. She also has 500 rebounds. She is a force down low and fights hard for position and to put the ball in the hoop. Should she find herself outside the arc, she has a quick and fluid stroke from deep. The Oklahoma City product has seen interest from Army - West Point, Oklahoma City University, East Central University, Arkansas Little Rock, Texas State, Central Missouri, Northwestern State-Louisiana and American University. Rockhurst (Kansas City) has already offered her a scholarship.
[player_tooltip player_id="151312" first="Madison" last="Roberts"] | 6-0 F | Classen SAS
Roberts was voted the MVP of the Jenks/Union Tournament earlier this year based on her work ethic and the fact that she hustles harder than anyone at both ends of the court. The No. 19 ranked 2021 player runs the floor well, despite her size. She is a big body down low and is a tough match-up for most players. She is a leader and the heart and soul of her team. Roberts holds an offer from Tennessee State and more are no doubt on the way.
[player_tooltip player_id="151325" first="Jaylee" last="Kindred"] | 6-3 F | Warner
Kindred does not rely on her outstanding size when it comes to rebounding. It could be tempting for someone so tall to wait for the ball to come back from the rim when rebounding. Kindred instead jumps to high point the ball and ensure that her team gets it. She relies on her size to score and could use a bit of work on her footwork down low. With a little improvement in the next year, do not be surprised to see the No. 33 ranked player in her class move up into the top-25. Colleges should begin calling very soon.
