GAME #1: Newman Catholic vs Black Hawk
TIME: 9:05 AM
B. ButlerKEY PLAYERS FOR BLACK HAWK:
Black Hawk enters the game with a stacked team this season. The squad has gone undefeated this season and it isn’t a shock if you dive into their roster. Key players for Black Hawk could honestly change each night as the team goes deep into the bench. The tremendous trio below however, has been consistent in being successful each game. Leading the team in scoring is senior guard Hannah Butler Hannah Butler 5'7" | CG Black Hawk | 2020 State WI . She’s supremely athletic and plays with so much experience. She’s a leader on floor and makes sure the game is played to her pace. She averages 18.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Alongside her is senior guard Natalie Luezinger. She is averaging 16.5 points and 3 assists per game. After watching Luezinger play it is clear that she is just a natural scorer. She knows how to get to the basket and when to take off for her team to win. Leuzinger is a preferred walk-on for Wisconsin. Adding to the tremendous trio is Bailey Butler Bailey Butler 5'7" | PG Black Hawk | 2021 State WI . The 5’7 junior guard is one of the most talented players in her class. The Green Bay commit is averaging 15.3 points and 6.5 assists per game. She’s quick on offense and even quicker on defense. She’s super dynamic and stays efficient on offense even while guarding the opposing team’s best player. She takes chances on defense that ultimately lead to more points for herself. Butler has over 180 steals this season.
KEY PLAYERS FOR NEWMAN CATHOLIC:
The team is led by a dynamic duo who puts up huge numbers each game. Julia Seidl and Jadelyn Ganski are leading their team to the success they’ve had this season. Julia Seidl, a 5’8 senior guard, is averaging 15.4 points per game. The UW La Crosse commit has been the leading scorer this season. She shoots from just about anywhere on the floor and attacks the basket with force. She works together with Ganski in transition and tallies a lot of layups per game. Siedl leads her team in assists with 3.5 per game. Beside her is Ganski, the 6’0 senior forward. She is averaging 12.7 points per game and leads her team in rebounding with 8.5 per game. Ganski is one of the better post defenders I’ve watched this season. She knows how to use her body and is rarely in foul trouble. The two work really well together with their inside out game. Ganski leads her team in blocks with 3.4 per game.
GAME #2: Bangor vs Clear Lake
TIME: 11:00 AM
J. RosenKEY PLAYERS FOR CLEAR LAKE:
Leading Clear Lake is senior point guard Madison Zimmer. The 5’7 standout is averaging 14.1 points per game for her squad. She’s helped lead her team to an undefeated season and is super competitive on the floor. She has exceptional hustle on both ends of the floor and has really nice handles. She excels and breaks defensive pressure with her handles and ability to find the open player. She is averaging 3 assists per game. Every point guard’s dream is to have two tall post players to look for in the lane. Zimmer has just that with her two highly talented post players. Julianna and Maddie Rosen have been key this season. Both standing at 6’0 tall they are super hard to defend. Julianna, the senior, is averaging 10.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Maddie Rosen, the sophomore center, adds 12.9 points and 7.4 rebounds.
KEY PLAYERS FOR BANGOR:
Bangor is led by three top players this season. Leading the team in scoring is Karsen Kerschner. The senior forward is averaging 13.1 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. She is a post player who is incredibly versatile. She has the ability to challenge a defender by knocking down a perimeter shot or using a strong post move in the lane. She’s long and has used a great hook shot this season. Haley Jones also added 9.5 points and 7 rebounds per game. Her and Kerschner work really well together in the lane. Defenders have trouble guarding them together when they are both on the floor. They are both super dynamic so predicting their moves on offense is almost impossible. Taylor Jacobson, sophomore guard, also adds in 7.8 points per game for Bangor.
