FINALISTS

[player_tooltip player_id="138307" first="Mya" last="Hiram"] (PF, Onsted)
Hiram is a defensive weapon. She led her Onsted team in steals, blocks, and charges taken. Hiram effectively defended multiple positions this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="138315" first="Logan" last="Lewis"] (SG, West Bloomfield)
Lewis just gets it done on the defensive end. I don’t have any steals or deflections stats, I just see her lock in and stop her opponent on a consistent basis.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

[player_tooltip player_id="28017" first="Shannon" last="Wheeler"] (PF, Detroit Renaissance)

She has a high IQ on the defensive end and seemed well prepared. Wheeler rarely seemed to get lost or caught by surprise with what the offense was doing. I’d say that she’s the best defender on one of, if not the best, defensive teams in the state.
