Now, they’ll face the balanced scoring Salisbury Hornets. They had four players in double figures during their 59-54 win over Forbush in the fourth round. Anayia Fulson paced the Hornets with 19 points and she looks to help the top seed reach the 2A state championship game next weekend. #3 Kinston (27-3) vs. #1 Farmville Central (24-3) 4 PM (Minges Coliseum)
East Carolina University is going to see a lot of local teams for their set of regional championship games this weekend. One of the biggest matchups of the day will be a rematch of last years 2A East final between Kinston and Farmville Central. The Vikings are coming off of a 46-41 road win over Randleman in the fourth round and have a lot of 2020 contributors like guard Michyla Dove, who had 14 points in the victory, and forwards Taliyah Jones and Anzaryia Cobb.
Farmville Central had no trouble against North Lenoir in their fourth round tilt. Amiya Joyner, the number four player in the PGH NC 2022 rankings had a monster performance. In the Jaguars 68-51 victory, she had 27 points, 27 rebounds, and 11 blocks with most of her damage coming in the first half. Another dominant outing could see lightning strike twice for the Jaguars. They won 76-56 in last years regional final, but Kinston hopes to exact revenge in a matchup of two great programs with high level prospects.
