She’s Ballin Showcase turns back on no one
I’ve been trying to figure out how I’m going to break the event down, I mean with close to 100 high school players and probably over a hundred middle school players, I was just awed by the talent. National evaluators were on hand, like Chris Hansen (Prospect Nation) and Joey Simmons (PBR), both of which I’ve known over 15 years as well as Shane Laflin and Jason Keys (PBR) all on various committees including MDAA, I’ve known them for close to 10 years. I also caught up with Keith Russell (Texas Truth) as well as the mastermind of the event and someone that has helped take San Antonio to another level SA Finest Coach Ray Caldwell (She’s Ballin) and I’ve known both for like almost 15 years, so it’s always good to be around those in your craft that you respect because there are countless that I truly don’t and with all of the talented players on hand, I’m sure everyone was seen by someone
I mean you had a couple of talented unsigned seniors, Giana Steward and Jazmyne Jackson as well as some heavy hitters I have listed on the Top 100 for their various classes, juniors Bria McClure Bria McClure 5'6" | PG Steele | 2021 State TX , one of the top PG’s in the state, Zoe Nelson Zoe Nelson 6'1" | PF Hendrickson | 2021 State TX , plays all five positions, Amillion Fowler Amillion Fowler 5'9" | SF George Ranch | 2021 State TX , Miss Hang Time, to recently added Taliyah Johnson Taliyah Johnson 5'6" | PG Temple | 2021 State TX as well as soon to be added Portia Adams who left me speechless with her relentless attacking of the basket and that stop and pop but I was also overly impressed with a freshman, Jamie Reude whose step back took a step back to no one as she simply mesmerized with her talent off the top. Speaking of freshmen, Sammie Wagner Sammie Wagner 6'1" | SF Reagan | 2023 State #2 Nation TX was there, not only did I call her a #BCSLocks years ago, the Baylor signee had sensational freshman season in high school as well as more talented frosh like Taylor Haggan Taylor Haggan 5'11" | PF John Paul II | 2023 State TX , Layla Conley Layla Conley 5'7" | SG Harlan | 2023 State TX , Aysia Proctor Aysia Proctor 5'7" | CG Clemens | 2023 State TX , Aniyah Sanford Aniyah Sanford 5'5" | PG Langham Creek | 2023 State TX and Ja’Shelle Johnson Ja’Shelle Johnson 5'5" | PG SA Johnson | 2023 State TX , another JJ you can count on bringing Good Times because she is DYNOMITE, that will never get old
I can go on and on about who was there, who I liked who impressed me but you have to realize I was in MENSA, I sometimes overthink my approach, yet I was also kicked out of MENSA and I’m not playing golf so the best way for me to break events down is to let it flow, like Carleigh Wenzel Carleigh Wenzel 5'11" | SG O'Connor | 2022 State #51 Nation TX and her picture-perfect jumper as she’s one of the best sophomores in the country and another sophomore I wrote about in the 6th grade, Donovia Hall Donovia Hall 5'11" | SF Plano East | 2022 State TX , my exact words were “I don’t know if she’s related to Arsenio but she’s going to be a hit, no swung on and miss on that evaluation but I love progression, Christeen Iwuala Christeen Iwuala 6'1" | C Reagan | 2022 State TX has so many stars and stripes by her name, the talented sophomore’s eval looks like a flag and speaking of flags, wave the green one for Mia Galbraith Mia Galbraith 5'10" | SG Lake Travis | 2023 State TX as the freshman will make a big jump
I’ll break it down by classes, this will include middle school stars galore, Janiah Lenoir, Rian Forestier, Emrie Holt, and Kaelyn Hamilton are some all getting in line for the next Watch List coming up, 2024, guess what, they aren’t alone, but have I mentioned Vivian Iwuchukwu yet, whew and that threesome of LA Sneed, Aniyah Foy and Aaliyah Chavez are #BCSLocks from 2025, don’t want BS saying I’m copying anyone again I’ve talked about for years, and no, I don’t just let things go like 6th graders Delaney Arredondo #D1Lock who threads the needle like a master seamstress and #BCSLock Bella Flemings that, well I just drop the mic
