Carleigh Wenzel Carleigh Wenzel 5'11" | SG O'Connor | 2022 State #51 Nation TX (San Antonio Finest) and her picture-perfect jumper were on display and Donovia Hall Donovia Hall 5'11" | SF Plano East | 2022 State TX (Urban Heroes DJ) who just continues to find ways to put the ball in the basket are a couple of players that impressed me before they played MS and I locked in at D1. Deja Hinson with the pull-up and spin moves made me dizzier than the last time I saw her as well as Sydney Love Sydney Love 5'10" | CG Cibolo Steele | 2022 State TX (Players First) who I only caught a few months ago who just keeps adding to her impressive game. I hadn’t seen Breelyn Sanborn (Houston United) for a while, she made my Tip Sheet in MS as well showing she could knock down shots, well she’s doing that from deeper than before and I was so pumped that I can’t wait for Austin Elite’s All Eyez On Me Individual Showcase June 15th so be ready because I’ll definitely be and here are some of the other standouts I caught
Christeen Iwuala Christeen Iwuala 6'1" | C Reagan | 2022 State TX -SA Finest- to say I was overly impressed with her progression from last summer would be an understatement as she’s definitely taken her game to another level. Size, strength, and skills are 3 S’s that will give you multiple next level options and her desire and intensity level showed as she finished at will, rebounded and defended
Rachel Okoye-Houston Dream- she left me speechless during the playoffs as she scored multiple ways so to see her doing the same thing against the caliber of players that were defending her told me a lot. Her athleticism and energy are pluses but she brings it every time she steps on the court. Watching her create off the dribble was nice and she mixes it up well
Maya Sanders-SA Finest- the red hair had me expecting she was going to bring some fire and she didn’t disappoint as she got to the basket and finished after contact but the heat didn’t stop there as she defended, baseline to baseline and played the passing lane well. Adding a nice pull-up jumper in traffic as well as handling the ball under pressure made her one of the many pleasant surprises
Hannah Humphrey-Houston United Burroughs- athletic and under control and did a number of things that quickly caught my eye such as handle the ball under pressure and understand how to control tempo but her ability to see the floor and make pinpoint passes in traffic as well as mixing it up by attacking the rim or creating her shot off the dribble
Alexis Parker Alexis Parker 5'10" | SF Brandeis | 2022 State TX -SA Finest- what’s the base I always talk about, long and athletic and she definitely left me speechless with several things she did consistently, like play the passing lane which I emphasize over and over how important that is but equally important is her ability to take defenders off the dribble just about whenever she wants and makes passes on the money
