In many cases, the junior year of high school is when prospects really assert themselves. What was once seen as potential begins to translate on the court. Here are a few of the jumps made by some prospects in a very talented 2021 class. 1. [player_tooltip player_id="118095" first="Raven" last="Johnson"] | 5’9" | PG | Westlake Up from No. 2 There was not much room for Johnson to move up, but she earned the number one spot in this class. She is the leader and catalyst for her nationally ranked team. Her understanding of the game is elite and she has the skill and athleticism to match it. Her relentless approach to the game is most impressive. She seems to take pride in harassing any player she is defending and averaged more than four steals a game. She is a coach on the floor and her teammates respond to her voice as well as her actions. She will make an immediate impact at the next level. 5. [player_tooltip player_id="118106" first="Malia" last="Fisher"] | 6’2" | PF | Hebron Christian Up from No. 13 Hebron Christian put together a 30-1 season with the only loss to the eventual state champion in the Elite 8 and Fisher played a major role in their undefeated regular season. The long and athletic forward dominated on both ends of the floor throughout the season. She is aggressive in the paint and has good footwork. She is relentless on the glass and had several double-digit rebounding efforts. Her quickness made her a tough match-up for many post with similar size. 8. [player_tooltip player_id="118121" first="Brianna" last="Turnage"] | 6’2" | SG | Westlake Up from No. 28 Turnage is an elite athlete. She is a guard with the length of most post in the state. Her athleticism combined with her size leads you to believe that she is going to be a big time player in college. She is a good driver and finisher and also has decent touch on her jump shot with range out to the three-point line. Defensively her length is going to be very valuable around the perimeter at the next level. 11. [player_tooltip player_id="118123" first="Keyarah" last="Berry"] | 5’10" | SF | Rockmart Up from No. 30 It is easy for Berry to be underrated in Georgia basketball where she is a dominate force in the 2A classification, but she can compete with the best. She is a physical specimen with the build of a sophomore in college, now. She is bigger, faster, and stronger than most in her position and can play the guard or forward positions. She has a good basketball IQ. She can improve on her ball-handling but compensates for that because she is simply strong enough to ward off defenders when playing point guard. 17. [player_tooltip player_id="118126" first="Sussy" last="Ngulefac"] | 6’3" | C | Parkview Up from No. 33 Ngulefac is a monster in the paint. Her determination to do the tough work of fighting for position before getting the ball leads to easy scores. She also has a high IQ an understands the importance of angles and knowing how to take advantage of her defender while the ball is moving around the perimeter. She has a couple of go to post moves and knows exactly when to use them using a good feel for defenders. 23. [player_tooltip player_id="118119" first="Nicole" last="Azar"] | 5’11" | SG | Hebron Chrisitian Up from No. 26 This is arguably the best pure shooter in the class of 2021. She has the consistent mechanics that leave you thinking every shot is going in no matter where she is shooting on the floor. She has a very high IQ and hunts for her shot attempts. She is a good ball handler as well and uses her pump fakes well to create driving opportunities for pull up jumpers or finishes at the rim.
