#14 Camas 40 #6 Glacier Peak 46
Camas came out strong 1st quarter leading 19-6, but by the 2nd quarter, they could not handle the heat of Glacier Peak’s press. Glacier Peak cashed in off turnovers and hit key shots down the stretch to take control of the game and ultimately win 46-40. Glacier Peak’s PG [player_tooltip player_id="144520" first="Aaliyah" last="Collins"] was the driving force helping create for her teammates, making key shots and her profitable defense. Collins finished with a commendable 13pts, 7rebs, 5st and Camas’s [player_tooltip player_id="48039" first="Faith" last="Bergstrom"] kept Camas afloat with game-high 16pts, 8rebs. Glacier Peak moves forward and takes on #4 Chiawana tomorrow March 5th at 9:00 am.
#10 Bellarmine 41 #2 Todd Beamer 57
It didn’t take long for Todd Beamer’s athleticism and effective transition & passing game to push them ahead of Bellarmine. By end of the first quarter led 23-10 although Bellarmine came back within 7 with a key shot by [player_tooltip player_id="85925" first="Julia" last="Bordeaux"] going into the half, Todd Beamer executed to clinch the win. Leading Beamer was Eastern Washington commit & NPSL MVP [player_tooltip player_id="20169" first="Aaliyah" last="Alexander"] with another consistent MVP performance with 19pts, 9rebs and 8/9 from the line. [player_tooltip player_id="85930" first="Sharay" last="Trotter"] also was key for the Titans win with 13pts, 6rebs. With Bellarmine’s PG/SG [player_tooltip player_id="85904" first="Callie" last="Stevens"] being kept to 12pts shooting 4/13 and Bellarmine only shooting 4 free throws the whole game to Todd Beamers 25, [player_tooltip player_id="85925" first="Julia" last="Bordeaux"] carried Bellarmine with 16pts, 6rebs. #12 Issaquah 57 #5 Kentridge 35
Issaquah surprisingly the lower seed team led almost the entire game from the end of the 1st quarter and never looked back. Kentridge really surprised a lot of people still making it to the state tournament without their five-star player USC commit [player_tooltip player_id="20151" first="Jordyn" last="Jenkins"], undoubtedly one of the best players in the state who was averaging 21ppg. Issaquah was led by consistent shooting with 3 players in double digits; [player_tooltip player_id="82947" first="Alivia" last="Stephens"] 14pts and Katie Macnary with a double-double 10pts, 10rebs. Kentridge was led by a solid underrecruited Class of 2021 SG [player_tooltip player_id="158674" first="Martina" last="Lam"] tied game-high 14pts, 9rebs, 2stl. Issaquah meets up with a tough #3 Central Valley tomorrow March 5th, 12:15 pm.
#9 Moses Lake 61 #8 Rogers (Puyallup) 43
These two teams were battling shot for shot going into the 2nd quarter, but Moses Lake was fluidly hitting shots from the arc & executing great team ball, while Rogers was holding on solely by [player_tooltip player_id="85884" first="Raigan" last="Barrett"]. Going into half Moses Lake was up 33-21 and ran with it using their size advantage to get to the rim and playing intense defense locking down Rogers perimeter. Rogers’ lockdown press was no match for Moses Lake and they were able to execute fast breaks by breaking the press. Moses Lake’s [player_tooltip player_id="85893" first="Madisyn" last="Clark"] finished with 16pts and Anna Olsen 15pts, 6rebs tag-teamed with solid performances to clinch the victory. Rogers was led by UW Softball commit SPSL MVP [player_tooltip player_id="85884" first="Raigan" last="Barrett"] with a stellar performance game-high 26pts. Moses Lake battles #7 Union tomorrow March 5th 2:00pm.
