I love playing back things in my head yet there are times when I drift a little too far back and my mood changes yet one thing never changes and that’s why I hashtagged #talentiseverywhere because it truly is. I try and cover reputable events and I always keep it real about my evaluations which is second to none based on my numerous can’t miss predictions over the almost 20 years I’ve been involved so watching [player_tooltip player_id="158665" first="Portia" last="Adams"] (Cedar Hill) simply explode onto the charts with a vengeance was definitely exciting but guess what, I checked out my crystal ball and I see some other 2021 guards that will make plenty of noise for their high schools next season and move up or those who are UNRANKED now but will move onto the Top 100 plus
[player_tooltip player_id="136362" first="Taliyah" last="Johnson"] (Temple)
Current Rank #76
Johnson has been on my radar for quite some time when I saw her dropping the long ball off the radar yet her ability to run a team, control the tempo and simply take over when needed was on full display at MT Rice Tournament yet she did more than hold her own against some of the top guards in Texas
[player_tooltip player_id="158668" first="Emri" last="Lovell"] (Harker Heights)
Current Rank #80
Lovell just left me speechless, not only with her ability to create off the dribble but exploding off the ground for her jumper yet she explodes to the rim as well with that first step and her ability to thread the needle for assists going dull speed is among the best in the state
[player_tooltip player_id="158673" first="Arleighsha" last="Fontenot"]
Current Rank #82 (Ridgepoint)
Fontenot has emerged as a legitimate scorer and not just a long ball shooter which will give her options at the next level. Her range is somewhere beyond the NBA line yet she can take defenders to the rim and finish with contact or hit the midrange
A’Zariah Knotts (Copperas Cove)
UNRANKED
Knotts attacks the basket relentlessly and her deceptive first step gives her numerous options against defenders but her strength is a huge plus as she can overpower many guards not to mention create her shot under pressure and hit it consistently
Allaiya Jones (Gatesville)
UNRANKED
Jones showed two things quickly at She’s Ballin Showcase and that was shooting the long-range from deep as well as the midrange and she mixes it up nicely. Her pull-up is smooth and she releases the ball at the right time as she elevates on her jumper
Shanna Petty (Westside)
UNRANKED
Petty impressed me years ago with potential playing a couple of years up and that probably had a lot to do with how she handles pressure because she gives it on the offensive end and applies it on the defensive side but her "never takes a play off" mindset is something you can’t teach
Hannah Humphrey (Lamar Consolidated)
UNRANKED
Humphrey does a good job at mixing things up and her athleticism and playing under control has a lot to do with that but she can attack the basket from every angle on the court and create her shot nicely but she does something else, see the floor, under pressure
Mikayla Green (Manvel)
UNRANKED
Green is one of the best "catch and shoot" with accuracy from BTA in the area and after transferring and having to play JV last season, she will give Manvel yet another scoring threat from the guard spot because she is capable of dropping 4 or 5 in a row from downtown being tightly guarded
