I traveled all over Texas and caught several teams, especially during the Holiday Trifecta in the Metroplex with a Waco cameo appearance not to mention the major tournaments in the Houston area so with all of that being said, the picks I have are based on players I saw at some point and always remember the thoughts and views in anything I write are mine alone so it’s possible that I missed some players that deserve to be on here, Texas is a humongous state, I caught Cedar Park’s [player_tooltip player_id="100076" first="Nicole" last="Leff"] (Texas State) and [player_tooltip player_id="137422" first="Hannah" last="Wheeler"] (Incarnate Word) numerous times this season, [player_tooltip player_id="137392" first="Jewel" last="Spear"] (Wake Forest) and Tamia Jones (SMU) have been making my Tip Sheets before they entered The Colony. Although I didn’t see Amarillo stars [player_tooltip player_id="100064" first="Zayla" last="Tinner"] (USC) and ’23 [player_tooltip player_id="96130" first="Zeryhia" last="Lee-Aokuso"] as well as Veteran Memorials amazing [player_tooltip player_id="67921" first="Sahara" last="Jones"] (Texas A&M) during the season yet I saw enough of them during the past summer to have them listed based on what their teams did down the stretch so here are my choices
First Team
Player Of The Year
[player_tooltip player_id="65915" first="Jazzy" last="Owens"] -sophomore guard (Frisco Liberty) the straw that stored the drink sums it up, well actually Owens’ explosive scoring helped win it all
[player_tooltip player_id="67921" first="Sahara" last="Jones"]-senior forward ( Veterans Memorial) anytime I see her Steve Miller’s "Flt Like An Eagle" pops into to my head because Jones soars over defenders with ease for baskets
[player_tooltip player_id="100064" first="Zayla" last="Tinner"]-senior guard (Amarillo) Tinner is a smooth as silk scorer that can flip the switch and just drop a barrage of baskets in a short person of time
[player_tooltip player_id="135368" first="Desiree" last="Wooten"]-junior guard (Mansfield Timberview) Wooten just takes defenders as if she owns them at times, her first step sets everything up, either for the jumper or bye-bye, attacking the basket
[player_tooltip player_id="155249" first="Na’Layjah" last="Johnson"]-junior guard (College Station)-Johnson has developed into not only one of the best long-range shooters in the state but one of the top clutch players
Second Team
[player_tooltip player_id="65911" first="Breanna" last="Davis"]-sophomore guard (Red Oak) Davis can run a team, make a team run or just take the offense into her own hands, she scores mid to long or off the dribble
[player_tooltip player_id="97631" first="Madison" last="Ott"]-junior guard (Frisco Centennial) Ott showed she wasn’t just an Urban Legend yet she showed the ability to leave her school as a legend because she can fill it up offensively
[player_tooltip player_id="97626" first="Bre’Yon" last="White"]-junior forward (Shadow Creek) White’s power in the paint scoring after contact is second to none but she keeps showing me more and that creates her shot under pressure gives her options
[player_tooltip player_id="134028" first="Gisella" last="Maul"]-freshman guard (Cedar Park) Maul is "long and athletic" remember what I said about that, it’s the base I look at first and with her extended range or attacking off the dribble, she filled it up
[player_tooltip player_id="96130" first="Zeryhia" last="Lee-Aokuso"]-freshman guard (Amarillo) heady combo guard that can get hers in the flow and before you know it, she’s filled up the state sheet
Honorable Mention
[player_tooltip player_id="134033" first="Savannah" last="Catalon"]-freshman guard (Mansfield Legacy)
[player_tooltip player_id="135363" first="R’Mani" last="Taylor"]-sophomore guard (Shadow Creek)
[player_tooltip player_id="100068" first="Destini" last="Lombard"]-senior guard (Hightower)
[player_tooltip player_id="137424" first="Brenna" last="Perez"]-senior forward (Veterans Memorial)
Lily Ziemkiewicz-junior guard (Frisco Liberty)
