Overall Analysis/Player Breakdown:
This position has strong depth overall and goes deeper than the five point guards that are in the table below. The class goes five deep at the point guard position that are headed to the Division 1 level and even more that are currently listed as “combo guards” that could likely end up playing the one in college. Everything starts with 4x gold medal winner, Hailey Van Lith Hailey Van Lith 5'7" | PG Cashmere | 2020 State WA of Cashmere High School. The state’s all time leading scorer is one of the most accomplished players to ever come out of Washington and definitely the most followed and hyped player of the social media era due to her ankle breaking moves and fiery competitiveness on both sides of the ball. Van Lith will need every bit of the fiery and competitiveness as she moves to Louisville where playing time is not easy to come by, but she has all the tools to be successful. Elizabeth Boni Elizabeth Boni 5'9" | PG University | 2020 State WA of University High School (feature image). The 5’10 point guard had some outstanding performances throughout the high school season scoring and dishing the rock. The future Colorado State point guard will have the ability to play on or off the ball at the next level thanks to her size, shooting and craftiness with the ball in her hands. Kentridge High School’s Daylani Ballena Daylani Ballena 5'7" | PG Kentridge | 2020 State WA walks away from high school with a 4A state title and adidas Gauntlet National Title. The number four ranked point guard in the class is Raigan Reed Raigan Reed 5'7" | PG Lake Stevens | 2020 State WA of Lake Stevens High School. The future Boise State Bronco can really score the ball and has a slick handle with high level shot making ability. Reed has the athleticism and skill to perform as her career moves along at the Division 1 level. Checking in at number five is Joelnell Momberg Joelnell Momberg 5'8" | PG Mead | 2020 State WA of Mead High School. She is crafty and can score it from the outside or drive to the hoop. The Montana native had a strong season in the one year she spent in Washington, but will head back to the Montana to suit up for the Grizzlies for college ball.
