Below is a list of forwards in the Junior class that are on the rise with their skill and talents.
Olivia Bree | 6’0 | Wauwatosa West
Bree is going to be an impact player in her conference next season. She’s proven she is an impressive scorer with multiple ways to attack the basket. Bree led her team this season in points, averaging 8.6 per game. She’s athletic and does a great job keeping the ball high on her shot. If left open, Bree will knock down the perimeter shot. A great defender as well, the junior added 6.5 boards per matchup.
Ziy Conner | 5’11 | Independence
Connor was the go-to player for her team this season. A versatile athlete that can produce on both ends of the floor, Conner was super successful this season. A quick release to her shot and crafty footwork in the paint, Conner averaged 19 points per game. Connor is so composed under the basket and patient using post moves to get her shot off. Conner was an incredibly consistent scorer this season with a few standout performances. In a team win over Mondovi, Conner scored 33 points. A great rebounder as well, Conner led her conference in rebounding at 17.3 boards per game. In a huge game against Caddot, Connor grabbed a season-high 25 boards.
Melanie Accola | 6’0 | Middleton
Accola is definitely a player stacked with potential. She’s a strong post player who does great job using her height to finish high off a board. Playing on a talented Middleton squad, Accola didn’t see as many minutes as she could. In a game against Madison West, Accola finished with 10 points.
Kaylee Frey | 5’11 | Winnebago Lutheran
Frey was an impact player in the Flyway conference this season. A great all around player with a good feel for the game. Frey averaged 12 points per game. Frey gets up and down the floor well, creating space for herself on the block to get open. She works well with her point guards and seals well for the easy pass. Frey has developed her mid range shooting as well. In a win over Omro, Frey finished with a season-high 22 points. An impressive rebounder as well, Frey averaged 9.3 per game. Using her strength and post defense, Frey grabbed a season-high 13 boards twice.
Emily Bohn | 6’4 | Assumption
Bohn is another player with height and skill. She’s a gifted athlete that knows how to use her footwork to get spacing in the paint. The junior averaged 8.3 points per game. In a win over Athens, Bohn scored 11 points. An impressive shot blocker, Bohn averaged 2.2 per game. Bohn is a standout rebounder that averaged 7.8 boards per game.
Vivian Guerrero | 6’1 | Lake Mills
Guerrero proved this season she is one of the top post players in the Capitol- North conference. She’s a threat on both ends of the floor for her squad. The junior averaged 11 points per game. In a win over Columbus, she scored 22 points. She sets hard screens and does a great job sealing for position. The Lake Mills standout will take a shot beyond the arc if left open. An impact rebounder for her team, Guerrero averaged 9.1 boards per game. In a win against Whitewater, Guerrero grabbed a season-high 18. The forward had over 200 rebounds this season.
