Freshman and Truman guard Taliyah Scott really showed that she was a double figure scorer that was in for a bright career ahead. Others that are making noise are Raytown super sophomore Stevi Yancy and Staley’s 5-10 shooting guard Morgan Ferrara.
Stevi Yancy, PG/SG, 2022, Raytown
Yancy at Raytown was a player that we really liked this season and one of those players that really showed just how good of a finisher around the basket she was. She can affect the game in many positive aspects, from shooting 3’s, to playing tough defense, and also finishing strong on fast break scoring opportunities, Yancy is dynamic and exciting.
Taliyah Scott, PG/SG, 5-3, 2023, Truman
Scott is one of the big time looking class of 23 freshman that really showed what she can do on the court and is a player that we think will be a top rated play maker in the years to come. Scott can do a little bit of everything well, and impressed with several double figure scoring outings, some of which included a 13 point outing vs. Blue Springs South and a 15 point game vs. Park Hill.
Morgan Ferrara, SG, 5-10, 2021, Staley
Ferrara, a very highly regard player in the 21 class in Kansas City area that can shoot with the best of them. Her long range treys make her very tough to defend against and she has some of the best range you will find. Had five three pointers vs. Park Hill and also showed just how impressive should could be on defense with eight steals vs. Smithville.
Juliana Lupercio, SG, 5-6, 2021, Winnetonka
Luperico is one of those players that can do a lot for Winnetonka and a play maker that is one of the better defensive standouts on the squad. We like her quick hands and ability to force turnovers and play tight defense. Lupercio had 4 steals vs. Ruskin and had three steals in games vs. Excelsior Springs, Oak Park, Wyandotte, and Ruskin again.
Gia Moore,SG, 5-7, 2021, William Chrisman
Moore is one of the guards that we liked a lot this season and is a player that no doubt brings a flare for the game and can make great things happen for Chrisman. Gia is one of the more impressive players when she does not have the ball. She can make the long range shot or drive and score with the best of them. One to know and keep an eye on for 2020-21.
