We continue the NE Ohio series with a look at more of the top 2021 juniors in that region.
Around Ohio- NE Ohio key 2021 players (pt. 6)
Alexus Reese, 5-11 Euclid
Strong, physical post who moves well, good hands and can score at the hoop. Finishes well at the rim, good rebounder and uses her body well on the boards. Not afraid to play through contact. Can push the ball in transition.
Destinee White, 5-4 Euclid
Extremely quick guard that is a good lockdown defender. Active hands, causes deflections and able to utilize her speed to create a transition advantage for her team. Great on the break, scores at the rim, outruns defenders. Explodes past the defense to the rim. Don’t leave her open, she can also hurt you from behind the arc. Can score with either hand, good footwork.
Claire Chambers, 5-10 Rocky River Magnificat
Deadly long range shooter, deep range and she has a quick release. Good body control and moves well without the ball. Can put the ball on the floor and penetrate to the rim. Good handles, able to get out on the break and establish the advantage. Can break open a game with her perimeter game.
Riley Stopp Riley Stopp 5'10" | SF Cornerstone Christian | 2021 OH , 5-11 Cornerstone Christian
A long and athletic player who can play shooting guard/small forward with great speed. Riley has a high motor who plays with energy all the time. Can fly in the open court, able to create angles and finish at the rim. Can score in all three phases, and for her size, is an exception ball handler, able to create offense in various ways. Can hold her own in the paint, and is a strong rebounder. Able to use her length, speed and size to her advantage on the defensive side of the ball.
Aislyn Hurst, 5-8 Cornerstone Christian
One of her biggest strengths is her ability to shoot from beyond the arc, but she is really difficult to defend with her ability to stretch the defense and create scoring chances in the paint. Small but mighty, good on the boards and very versatile defender with her size and strength. Loves to play north-south in transition, can score at the rim. Has a solid mid-range shot and can score off either the pass or the dribble.
