Every year, 15 players are honored as All-State players. There are three teams made up of five players. These girls were among the 10 best in the state all season long. Here are the Second Team All-State selections in New Jersey.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="134628" first="Saniah" last="Caldwell"] (2022) | Saddle Day River</strong>
Caldwell will have plenty of time to move into the First Team. As a sophomore, she made a name for herself as one of the best two-way guards in the state. Caldwell averaged 20.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, five assists, and 4.6 steals per contest. She led Saddle Day River to a fifth straight Bergen County title. She has not even reached her potential yet given that she is still an underclassmen. Caldwell will be highly recruited over the final two years of her career.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="134611" first="Christina" last="Dalce"] (2021) | Rutgers Prep</strong>
What a season it was for Rutgers Prep. They won the Somerset County title and lost in the final game of the Non-Public B South state sectional tournament. Their catalyst was a dominant 6’2 forward. Dalce averaged 14.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest. She notched 15 double-doubles this season. Dalce also served as a rim protector blocking 2.5 shots per game.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="134624" first="Tara" last="Johnson"] (2021) | University</strong>
University was extremely talented this season. They started two Division I commits plus Johnson, who will likely be one soon. She averaged 15.5 points and 7.6 rebounds per game for a University team that won it’s first Essex County title in over a decade.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="134583" first="Anna" last="Morris"] (2020) | Immaculate Heart</strong>
Morris could have been a First Team selection and no one would have questioned it. She was a big time player all season but she stepped her game up when the lights were the brightest. Morris scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Immaculate Heart’s title victory in the Non-Public A North. She averaged 16.3 points per game and served as a force on defense as well. Morris will take her talents to Northwestern next season to continue a successful career.
<strong>Kelsey Ransom (2020) | St. Thomas Aquinas</strong>
Ransom missed time with a knee injury but this did not slow her down when she returned. Ransom averaged 13.6 points and served as half of a dynamic duo for the Trojans along with [player_tooltip player_id="134586" first="Emma" last="Boslet"]. She was apart of a St. Thomas Aquinas team that won their second straight GMC Tournament title and were ranked in the top-10 all season long. Ransom will be playing for Georgetown next season. This is not the last we have heard of her.
