Callie Ronningen, Langdon/Edmore/Munich
Ronningen wrapped up her high career on a high note, leading the Cardinals to an undefeated season and a state championship. The 5-foot-9 senior wing put up huge numbers all year, averaging 18.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists while providing elite level defense.
Abby Duchsherer, Kindred
Kindred was the favorite to win the state title until it was upset in the Region championship game and Duchsherer was the reason why. Arguably the best player in the state regardless of class, Duchsherer stuffed the stat sheet in a big way, averaging 20.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 3.2 steals while hitting two thirds of her shot attempts.
Kaity Hove, Trenton
Hove led the Tigers to the state tournament for the second year in a row and put up huge numbers all season, averaging 17.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 4.3 steals while helping the Tigers go undefeated in the regular season and finish in third place at state.
MacKenzie Hughes, Thompson
Hughes was an all-stater as a sophomore and took her game to another level as a junior, averaging 21 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists while being the offensive catalyst for a Thompson team that was ranked all season. She’ll be among the best players in the state again next year.
Sam Oase, Hettinger/Scranton
Arguably the best post player in Class B, Oase turned in a fantastic junior year, averaging 17.5 points, 11.6 rebounds and 2.6 blocks while leading Hettinger/Scranton back to the state tournament.
Second Team
Carlee Sieben, Grafton
Sieben was the catalyst for a Grafton team that reached the state championship game. The junior lead guard put up huge numbers for the Spoilers, averaging 19 points and four assists per game while providing excellent on-ball defense.
Ellie Holen, LaMoure/Litchville-Marion
Holen led LLM to the state tournament, capping a terrific career with an awesome finish. Her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor is rare and she stuffed the stat sheet, averaging 13.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 2.7 steals.
Terryn Johnson, Kindred
One of the most productive interior players in the state, Johnson was a main cog in the Vikings’ attack and a regular double-double producer. On a lot of teams, she’d be the team’s best player and her ability to finish around the rim, create for herself in the low and mid post and rebound on both ends makes her incredibly difficult to neutralize.
Madelyn Schmidt, Kidder County
Kidder County got picked off earlier than expected, but Schmidt was as good as any player in the state, averaging 17.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 3.6 steals. An all-state pick a year ago, Schmidt will be among the elite players in Class B again next year and a reason why the Wolverines will be ranked in the preseason polls.
Leah Feland, Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood
Feland carried the Mavericks as a senior, averaging 19.4 points per game while shooting better than 50 percent from the field on her way to winning the Region 6 Player-of-the-Year honors. The
