Now that the season is over, it’s time to recognize some of the many players who shined throughout what was a memorable 2019-20 campaign.
It was no small undertaking and after much deliberation, and while there are many players deserving of being on this list, our staff here at Prep Girls Hoops Colorado has settled on the names below for all-state honors. To <em>all</em> the prep hoopers in Colorado, congratulations on an excellent season.
Here is the Prep Girls Hoops Colorado All-Senior Team.

The 6-foot-3 shooting guard lived up to what figured to be an outstanding senior season. Making sure to end her prep career in Colorado Springs with a flash before heading up north to play for the University of Colorado, Blacksten averaged 16 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while leading the Kadets to the Sweet 16 in Class 4A. Blacksten will graduate high school career with more than 1,000 points and nearly 500 boards.

Committed to stay in Denver and continue her basketball career at Metropolitan State University, Bonds put up video game numbers as a senior. Not only did the dynamic 5-foot-5 guard and 1,600-point career scoring lead all of Colorado with 24.9 points a game, she also averaged 7.7 rebounds and nine steals a night. Over 85 career games in high school, Bonds averaged an incredible 19.2 points.

Cavey bounced back beautifully from a injury-shortened junior year that followed a sophomore season in which she shined as an emerging star for the Spartans. As a senior, Cavey led Berthoud to the Class 4A Final Four and the six-foot small forward averaged 17.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and three steals a game. Still uncommitted, Cavey was voted player of the year in the Tri-Valley League.

Luckily for prep hoops fans in Colorado, it won’t be hard to watch Clark continue to grow in college since the senior is headed to Colorado State University next season. In her four high school seasons, Clark scored 1,638 points and averaged a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds in 109 games. As a senior, the 6-foot-3 Bruins post averaged 14.1 points and 10.8 rebounds a night.

An all-around stud and one of the most versatile players Colorado has seen in some time, Hemingway was a treat to watch on a nightly basis. She’s signed to continue her basketball career at Colorado State University, which is good news for local fans as they will have the opportunity to continue watching the 5-foot-11 guard play. As a senior, Hemingway averaged 15.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 3.4 steals a night.

The undisputed top player in Class 3A for the past two seasons, it looked as though Howery was going to leave high school as a three-time state champion before the season ended abruptly. The four-year varsity starter averaged 16.2 points over 103 career games and finished with 1,672 points on her way to signing with Colorado School of Mines. As a senior, Howery averaged 21.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 4.1 steals a game on her way to being named CHSAA player of the year in 3A for the second straight season.

Hughes committed to Central Arizona College earlier this week and the Vaqueras are getting a good one in the 5-foot-11 small forward. As a senior, she averaged a double-double with 15.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game, and also chipped in 4.2 assists, 2.2 steals and over a block and a half a night. A four-year varsity player, Hughes was a rebound short of averaging a double-double for her prep career and helped lead the Bison to the Class 5A Sweet 16 this winter.

The future Kansas State University point guard was fantastic while leading the Regis Jesuit girls to the Great 8 round of the Class 5A state tournament. In her prep career, Moore racked up over 1,100 points, 500 rebounds and 350 assists. As a senior in 2019-20, she averaged 17.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, three assists and 3.4 steals per game and raised her game in the postseason when the Raiders needed her most.

It was yet another spectacular season for the 5-foot-8 guard, who led the Cyclones to the Great 8 of the Class 4A state tournament. Headed to the University of Northern Colorado next year, Simental averaged 16.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 3.1 steals per game. She shot 48 percent from the field and 42 percent from behind the 3-point arc, and finished her prep career with over 1,700 points.

The Gatorade girls basketball player of the year was nothing short of amazing, which is what everyone has come to expect from the Stanford University commit. Van Gytenbeek finishes her high school career with 1,731 points and set Colorado’s all-time record for assists with 679. Following a junior season in which she hit the game-winning shot in the 5A state title game, she averaged 17.2 points, 7.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 3.1 steals as a senior in 2019-20.
