Program Preview: Fairfax Stars 16U

Head coach Mike Gray returns with this group that had a successful summer last year, winning EYBL Nike Nationals for 10th grade. They were set to compete on the EYBL circuit once again and here is a look at the assembled squad.   Zanai Barrett-Gay, 2022, 5’7” Guard, CMIT North This is an explosive and dynamic combo guard that can score in bunches. She is equipped with exceptional speed and athleticism and she knows how to use it. She had a strong season for CMIT, helping them reach the MPSSAA final four. Alden Yergey, 2023, 5’7” Guard, Brentsville High Alden is a smooth point guard with a relentless motor and great range on her three point shot.   Gianni Boone, 2022 , 5’11” Wing, St John’s College Gianni is one of my favorite 2022 players. She is long and athletic and makes everything look easy. She can defend four positions and comes up with a double double every time she hits the court. A true three level scorer who keeps getting better. Kayla Rolph, 2022, 6'3" Forward, Potomac School Kayla is a versatile forward that is capable of running the point and dominating games. She is very fun to watch as she is a walking double double with at least one 20 point 20 rebound high school game on her resume. She has deceptive speed for her size and uses it well. Ande’a Cherisier, 2023, 6’0”, Forward, St Timothy’s This is a strong and physical power forward that likes to bang inside and finishes well. She has expanded her game looks a lot more comfortable handling the rock and knocking down perimeter shots. She had very impressive freshman season at St. Tim's.   [player_tooltip player_id="143240" first="Aaliyah" last="Carlock"] , 2022, 5’9” Wing, Bishop O’Connell Aaliyah is a tough, ultra competitive wing with significant WCAC varsity experience.She defends, rebounds and finishes aggressively at all times.
