The 5’10” Pauley excels at every position on the floor with her height, versatile skill set and high basketball IQ. She has already caught the attention of Division I programs such as Alabama, Minnesota and Iowa among others.
“I went to several camps at those schools, but I really haven’t started focusing on that,” she said. I just want to take it year by year in high school and improve my game.”
When Pauley has the ball in her hands, she is capable of lighting up the scoreboard with her ability to get buckets and create for her teammates with her passing. She erupted for 57 points in a game against Green City as a freshman.
As a sophomore, she averaged 28.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 4.0 steals while making 84 3-pointers. She has already surpassed the 1,000-point plateau while continuing to evolve as a vocal leader.
”What I’ve improved on is being a better vocal leader since I was so young,” she said. “I’ve also improved on my ball handling, defense and getting my teammates open.”
Parley’s playmaking skills have continued to improve as she has had to face double and triple team defenses throughout her sophomore year.
”Facing two or three people has been a challenge, but I’ve figured out how to get my teammates open,” she said. “And I trust them to make the shots when they are open.”
Despite her tremendous individual success, Pauley is more focused on accomplishing team success in the future. She led Milan to a conference championship and she wants more.
”My team goals are to win districts and be conference champions,” she said.
