Xela Davis, 2022, Carnahan
Davis is one of the top public high league players in the 22 class and showed some nice signs of being a play maker this season for the Cougars. Davis scored 14 points against Roosevelt and notched 10 in games vs. Westminster and Jennings for double figure outings for the impressive sophomore. Went 7-for-7 on regular field goals vs. Roosevelt as well. Also showed she could grab some nice boards with 8 boards in three games, those coming vs. Villa Duchesne, Jennings and Roosevelt.
Kanitra Barnett, 5-11, F, 2023, Vashon
One of the most impressive and productive class of 23 players in the Public League, Barnett averaged 8.6 ppg, shot an impressive 51.2 clip from the floor and saw action in 19 of the Wolverines contests. She had seven double figure scoring outings with a season-high 19 points vs. St. Pius X and notched 22 boards in that game also. Also had 17 boards vs. Miller Career late in the season.
Kelsey Harris, 2022, Miller Career
A player that excelled from the 2022 class in the Public High league, Harris was a player that was on the rise already in her sophomore season and a player to know going forward for sure. Harris notched 17 points in four games, those coming vs. Gateway, Chicago Hyde Park, Dexter and Metro. Pulled down 6 boards vs. Hyde Park also.
Makenzie Jones, 2022, 4-11, PG, Carnahan
Jones might be just 4-11 but don’t let that fool you, she can motor and play with the best of them and we like her to become a Public League player to know and watch for in 2020-21. Jones was able to score 22 points vs. Gateway and 15 against Sumner for her top two scoring nights. Also some quicks hands with 8 steals vs. KIPP St. Louis and 7 steals vs. Sumner.
Raven Sims, 2021, Northwest Academy
A player for the Hornets that could end up having a super senior season and one that showed some nice potential for the 2019-20 season. Sims was a player that showed some great play in games this season, among her best nights were 17 points vs. McKinley and 15 vs. Confluence. had 9 rebounds vs. Medicine and Bioscience and 7 boards vs. Viburnum.
