Since #4 [player_tooltip player_id="67946" first="AJ" last="Marotte"] (Vista Ridge) committed to Washington and #12 [player_tooltip player_id="67955" first="Bria" last="McClure"] (Cibolo Steele) decided on College of Charleston, they joined #8 [player_tooltip player_id="97623" first="Evie" last="Goetz"] (Denton Guyer) TCU and #9 [player_tooltip player_id="97624" first="Paige" last="Bradley"] (Bishop Lynch) who verballed to Texas so here are the Top 10 uncommitted juniors in the state and to no surprise, four were called #D1Locks by me in middle school or before
[player_tooltip player_id="65876" first="Jada" last="Malone"] (The Village)
Current Rank #1
Malone can play multiple positions in college depending on the system, the 4 and 5 because of her physicality and power in the paint as well as the three because of expanded range over the years, not to mention she’s also handling the ball in the open court on the break
[player_tooltip player_id="97622" first="Kyndall" last="Hunter"] (Cypress Creek)
Current Rank #2
Our lone paper’s Player Of The Year which was well deserved especially after they left her off all three postseason teams last year and she’s one of the top guards in the country with BCS offers yet I have no agenda not do I play politics, Hunter can go, saw that in 5th or 6th grade
[player_tooltip player_id="65878" first="Rori" last="Harmon"] (Cypress Creek)
Current Rank #3
Harmon teams with Hunter to form one of the top backcourts in the country and Harmon’s poise and basketball IQ sold me when she was in the 5th grade. The gamed starts at the one and she makes her teammates better, directing traffic and getting them the ball at the right time but she can take over with a blink of an eye
[player_tooltip player_id="67948" first="Jasmine" last="Shavers"] (Horn)
Current Rank #5
I’m, not sure if she had played her first middle school game yet but I just knew what was coming and a big growth spurt later she has gone beyond my expectations and continues to elevate her game as she elevates over defenders with the jumper or in the paint
[player_tooltip player_id="67956" first="Jordyn" last="Newsome"] (Irving Macarthur)
Current Rank #6
Newsome is one of the most explosive scorers in the state, I’m playing the club seasons highlights in my head over the years and she’s in plenty of them. With a mid to long-range that can just fill it up quickly and efficiently, she also scores off the dribble and finishes strongly after contact
[player_tooltip player_id="67966" first="Aniyah" last="Johnson"] (Red Oak)
Current Rank #7
Johnson and Johnson fits nicely because she can be a dominant force on the inside or just attack from the wing or any angle imaginable but her strength, agility, and athleticism creates numerous problems, on both ends of the court because she defends well in the paint or on the perimeter
[player_tooltip player_id="97637" first="Kendall" last="McGruder"] (South Oak Cliff)
Current Rank #10
McGruder is ice under pressure and one of the best clutch players I saw all season. She wants the last shot or the one one that can change the momentum and she delivers, either from outside or attacking the basket so with that being said, she finds ways to score
[player_tooltip player_id="67954" first="Ashlyn" last="Jones"] (Klein Oak)
Current Rank #11
Jones is another middle school player I locked in at D1 because of something I’ll never forget. She took a hard lick, was in excruciating pain and I thought she was done yet the game was on the line, she came back and nailed a three to win it, giving her 30 playing 2 years up. She is a highlight waiting to happen and can play
[player_tooltip player_id="97626" first="Bre’Yon" last="White"] (Shadow Creek)
Current Rank #13
White came here from across the state line and it didn’t take me long to see that the 7trhg grader was legit dropping the long ball from beyond the 3 point line. Her game has become polished even more, rugged attacker and finisher hits the midrange as well as rebounds and defends
[player_tooltip player_id="97627" first="Raven" last="Adams"] (Ridgepoint)
Current Rank #14
Adams was a 5th grader when I said #D1Lock because I could tell by looking at her eyes, what she did instinctively, her reactions in the situation as well as her mannerisms. Okay, dazzling ballhandling, seeing the floor and shooting the long ball may have also had something to do with it but numerous mid-majors on the table so what’s most important to me, I WAS RIGHT
