Similar with the story of the guards of the 2023 class, the forwards were asked to do particular things for their teams and as expected there were a select few that made strides big enough for headlines. [player_tooltip player_id="158545" first="Rhyan" last="Mogel"] for La Salle is a tall, lanky forward that can play the guard positions as well. She combines her height with dribbling and rebounding skills as these were put on display versus Corvallis in the opening round of the 5A State Tournament. [player_tooltip player_id="158546" first="Finley" last="Heslam"] is an extremely athletic multisport athlete that made PIL-All League honors and will be a name to look out for in the next few years. [player_tooltip player_id="158550" first="Beaux" last="Bruegman"] for Sheldon was a part of their run to Chiles Center for the 6A State Tournament and is an all around player that will continue to develop. [player_tooltip player_id="158554" first="Bailey" last="Donohue"] from McKay is a unique post whose size helped her this season, whereas [player_tooltip player_id="158557" first="Sydney" last="Brewster"] for Sandy is a player whose fundamental all around game helped her make noise last season. [player_tooltip player_id="158545" first="Rhyan" last="Mogel"] 2023 5’10" SF (La Salle HS) - (Pictured) The versatile forward for the Falcons turned in a 23 point effort versus Corvallis in their last game of the season, in which La Salle desperately needed heroics in order to prevent an upset. Mogel rebounds well, is a natural defender due to her wingspan, and can shoot it with precision as well. Look for her to become a dominant player in the upcoming years. [player_tooltip player_id="158546" first="Finley" last="Heslam"] 2023 5’9" SF (Franklin HS) - Very athletic freshman that received all league mentions for both soccer and basketball for Franklin High School. Father was a high school basketball star that later went on to play at the Division III level. Looks to build on a highly successful first year with the Quakers. [player_tooltip player_id="158550" first="Beaux" last="Bruegman"] 2023 5’10" SF (Sheldon HS) - Aggressive defender with great presence, known for pinpointing passes, stealing them, and redirecting them to open teammates. Tall, lengthy forward that rebounds assertively, can start the break and has good court vision. Has simple, but effective moves on the offensive end, with a solid jump shot and the ability to finish on the break. [player_tooltip player_id="158554" first="Bailey" last="Donohue"] 2023 6’0" C (McKay HS) - Bailey has a big frame that allows her to be a formidable force in the middle for McKay. Is able to get rebounds for easy put backs over and through defenders, as her body is able to absorb contact from defenders. As she goes into her sophomore season, she will be looked upon to evolve her game, playing with the likes of [player_tooltip player_id="158491" first="Skye" last="Miller"]. [player_tooltip player_id="158557" first="Sydney" last="Brewster"] 2023 SF (Sandy HS) - Forward for Sandy that has good hands that work in her favor for rebounding and getting loose balls and steals. Brewster was a significant role player last season that was depended upon for her defensive abilities and contributions to offense.
