6 x 6: Class of 2022 6 footers to Know Below I’ve highlighted some talented prospects who are all 6 feet or taller. Having such a height advantage can really turn a player from good to great. Having a player who successfully uses their body can translate to a huge impact on both ends of the floor. The players I’ve listed below do a great job of capitalizing on the height they were blessed with. [player_tooltip player_id="155430" first="Brynn" last="Olsen"] | 6’0 PF | Rice Lake Olsen is a great all around player for Rice Lake. She does everything her team needs from her and is consistent. Her height is an added bonus to the value she already brings to her team. She’s an ultra-dynamic athlete who just understands the game. She is an offensive threat that can score the ball in so many ways. The sophomore averaged 12.8 points per game for Rice Lake. She had multiple standout games that proved she will be a force for the next two years. In her first game as a sophomore she scored a season-high 24 points for her team. She has a smooth release to her shot and a nice touch finishing offensive rebounds. Olsen is an impact rebounder for her team as well and will push the ball in transition. [player_tooltip player_id="155422" first="Lily" last="Hansford"] | 6’2 CG | Appleton East Hansford is the tallest player listed in the Class of 2022 rankings. She uses her height in a different way than most players on the list and it has really worked well for her thus far. She’s a shooting guard with tremendous range on the perimeter. She shoots over defenders and isn’t frazzled by a player in her face due to her height. She’s a confident shooter and is super comfortable on the outside. If Hansford can develop her inside scoring game she would be an even bigger threat offensively. She currently holds an offer from UW Green Bay. [player_tooltip player_id="132381" first="Mya" last="Moore"] | 6’0 PF | Pius XI Catholic Moore is a strong post player who plays with traditional skills on the block. She uses her body well to create position and score on the block. She works well with her back to basket and has multiple post moves in her bag. I enjoy watching Moore play as she’s a super tough player with a smooth touch on the glass. She also has great on court vision for a power forward and seems to make her teammates better. She played alongside two of the state’s top forwards [player_tooltip player_id="132440" first="Jada" last="Spence"] and [player_tooltip player_id="132433" first="Jasmine" last="Kondrakiewicz"] this season and gained some experience from them. The Pius XI standout will play with Wisconsin Shooters this summer. McKenna Monogue | 6’1 PF | Middleton Monogue is a player who is also super fun to watch. She’s similar to Hansford as they both seem to be more comfortable on the perimeter. She’s certainly a shooter for Middleton and does a great job creating a shot for herself. But where she truly impacts the game is inside the paint. Monogue does a great job fighting for boards and finishes with power on the put back. She works well with other post players and has great on court vision to find her teammates open. She averaged 2.3 assists per game. A strong offensive threat, Monogue will be a huge impact player for Middleton next season. [player_tooltip player_id="132384" first="Jordana" last="Reisma"] | 6’2 PF | Brown Deer Reisma had a breakout season her sophomore year. She started the season a little timid on the block, often veering out mid range. By the end of the season, Reisma refused to shy away from contact on both ends of the floor and was relentless on the boards. She has good handles at her size and can push the ball in transition. The power forward isn’t as confident shooting beyond the arc but I fully expect that to change if she’s able to get some game action this summer. She’s an athletic power forward with a lot of speed to her moves on offense. Reisma has a great feel for the game. She understands her role and works really well with guards. After her standout season, Reisma now holds offers from North Dakota and North Dakota State. [player_tooltip player_id="155429" first="Grace" last="Schmidt"] | 6’1 PF | Watertown Luther Prep Schmidt made a huge impact on her team this season. The first team all conference selection led her team in scoring and rebounding. She’s a fierce player who is super athletic. She can run the floor in transition and is super effective on defense. At 6’1, Schmidt is also super long and causes many guards to not want to enter the paint. She can also hold her own on another post player and clearly practices her footwork often. She knows how to use her body to create space and step around post players. Offensively, Schmidt can score the ball from anywhere on the court. She became more confident in her baby jumpers towards the end of the season and used her height to score over defenders.
