Playmaking is a necessary skill on the basketball court that not all players possess. It takes a special player to make something happen from nothing and these players have that ability.
Trinee Gadson (2021) | Glassboro
Glassboro was one of the top teams in the state this season with a 25-4 record. Gadson was a big reason why. She served as an upperclass leader to many of the talented freshman on the team including [player_tooltip player_id="155443" first="Alexis" last="Davis"]. Gadson scored 14 points per game and was second on the team in rebounding and third in assists. She is a quick guard that could get in the passing lane and turn defense into offense. Glassboro is only going to improve with most of their key players returning.
[player_tooltip player_id="155448" first="Kassidy" last="Thompson"] (2023) | Clearview
The loss of [player_tooltip player_id="156157" first="Bella" last="Steidle"] will be big for Clearview but Thompson will do all she can to take over. The freshman came in and was an instant difference maker for Clearview. She averaged over 12 points per game and was a big rebounder from the perimeter. Thompson showed the ability to score from anywhere but thrived from inside the lane. She will continue to get better and better as her career progresses.
Jessica Lee (2021) | Washington Township
Lee will become Washington Township’s No. 1 option next season with Emily Johns graduating. This is not the worst option for the team. She knocked down 19 three’s and was second on the team in foul shooting. Lee showed that she could take over a game on the offensive end.
Karma Payne (2023) | Glassboro
Payne is one of the extremely talented members of the Class of 2023 for Glassboro. She was one of the team’s leading scorers and part of a big three. Payne has skills that are well beyond her years. She is agile in the lane and shows off her athleticism on both ends of the floor.
Erica McDonnell (2021) | West Deptford
Whenever West Deptford needed a play, they turned to McDonnell. This makes her the perfect pick for this category. McDonnell knocked down 42 three’s this season and led the team in foul shooting as well. McDonnell has already emerged as a star for West Deptford.
Jenna Georgette (2021) | Pitman
Georgette was the bright spot for Pitman this season. She proved to be a scorer at all three levels. She stepped out to shoot from deep at times or could put the ball on the floor or get to the line. Georgette took a visible step this season and she will be a must watch player in Gloucester County in 2020-2021.
Olivia Ettore (2022) | Kingsway
Kingsway is hoping they have their next star in Ettore. She is listed as a small forward and that is accurate given she can play any of the five positions. Ettore was a dynamic scorer in the post with a soft touch and knack at rebounding.
